Sorry about the pic. Couldnt help myself :D

After the Round 16 game against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at Southern Cross Group Stadium do you want to see any changes for the Round 17 game against the Gold Coast Titans at Mt Smart Stadium?

Promotions?
Demotions?
Any new injury concerns?
Any returning players?
Any tweaks to the bench?

Happy to have David Fusitua remain at fullback but for fucks sake Cappy leave Jonathan Wright out of the squad unless we have an injury. Tuimoala Lolohea on Ayshfords wing every day of the week. Manu Vatuvei is likely to come back this week. Happy to see the team go back to the one we have been getting some consistency with over the last few weeks...

1. David Fusitua
2. Tuimoala Lolohea
3. Blake Ayshford
4. Solomone Kata
5. Manu Vatuvei/Ken Maumalo
6. Thomas Leuluai
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Ben Matulino
9. Isaac Luke
10. Jacob Lillyman
11. Bodene Thompson
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Simon Mannering

14. Albert Vete
15. Sam Lisone
16. Charlie Gubb
17. Nathaniel Roache

I believe once our backs are 100% we should see the hooker utility dropped in favour of a second rower/prop like James Gavet, Shaun Lane or John Palavi...

I would be happy enough with that team. We need to win this game. Its at home and heading in to the bye. Need to continue to show the improvement from previous weeks. Talk of resting players is not an option. Win this week and then rest for two weeks to try and make a run for the 8.

18th man Lolohea.

If it was possible to clone people McFadden would clone Wright 16 times and select them all to play. Such is the man love he has for Wright.

Happy enough with the same team minus Wright.
Personally think Fusitua has been going better than Tui at FB so would swap the 2 and have Tui on the Wing.
Been pleasantly Suprised with Maumalo but Manu will come back in if fit.
Be happy enough for Sipley to come in and if Johnsons not right give Higano a shot

Putting on my Cappy cap now and going with a revolutionary specialist outside back bench...

Agreed but in response to your mentioned locks, I've watched the last couple of games. Without reading their stats Gavet gets gassed easily and Lane and Palavi were'nt exciting to warrant a promotion. One guy who stands out from the bench is James Bell. Probably not a great ball carrier that everyone is after but he certainly tackles like a demon..... (Grubb like) and his footwork is not bad. Definitely brings energy back to the team when he's on. Maybe throw Maumalo on the bench if Manu is back.

1 David Fusitua...........................YES
2. Tuimoala Lolohea.....................NO put him in the center with Blake, the kid has speed, a step, and the vision to read an attacking play
3. Blake Ayshford........................YES
4. Solomone Kata........................NO doesn't pass, doesn't side step, can't just keep trying to run over players, it not working, put him on the wing
5. Manu Vatuvei/Ken Maumalo.......Ken all the way
6. Thomas Leuluai.......................Not happy with him at 6, but with Shaun Johnson not 100% and until Tui gets a chance what else can we do, would even like to see ATA
7. Shaun Johnson........................He needs to be 100% other wise whats the point in just filing a space to pass the ball on. Ata could be the man while Shaun Johnson get 100% match fit
8. Ben Matulino...........................YES
9. Isaac Luke..............................YES but 15 to 20 minutes each half, with Jazz at cover
10. Jacob Lillyman.......................YES
11. Bodene Thompson..................YES
12. Ryan Hoffman........................NO, don't rate him, don't like him as Captain, and honestly would rather he wasn't here at all
13. Simon Mannering...................YES no question in my mind

14. Albert Vete...........................YES
15. Sam Lisone...........................YES
16. Charlie Gubb.........................If we have to
17. Nathaniel Roache...................NO Jazz is far better at this point. Let Luke go hard for 15 to 20 minutes at each half, then finish off both halfs with Jazz.

Pretty happy with most of the team mt.wellington named & I also totally agree with koolkat that now most definitely ain't the time to be resting anyone

If I'm right in my recollection that Shaun Johnson's injury is a corked thigh then it isn't really going to get worse by him running on it, wouldn't even be that drastic if he caught a blow to it either, more of a painful annoyance than anything truly debilitating in the long term in my experience, it all depends on the severity & whether it's intermuscular or intramuscular & given that he played the entire match (including extra time) yesterday & didn't seem too badly hindered in his movements then I'd hazard to guess that it's only a mild grade 1 contusion which heal relatively quickly (even faster if it's intermuscular as opposed to intramuscular)

I still have a wee bit of a bee in my bonnet about Gubb, but I'm willing to concede to the old consistency of selection philosophy

For now anyway, but if the newly anointed people's champ Charlie Gubb (I think it's more than obvious now that Wright was always a pretender to the throne, for the record I never once supported and or endorsed Wright's supposed reign in any way shape or form & I would like to say shame shame shame on all of you who whorshipped this false idol & may Jah have mercy on all of your poor misguided souls lol) has yet another piss poor offensive game then I'll be back on his case faster than Konrad Hurrell into a GC nightclub / party ... allegedly of course lol

Whilst Fusi went well at FB I'm not sure he went well enough to justify leaving him there over Tui. Fusi is the best winger in our side and by far the best finisher, he needs to be on the wing, at least for now. Tui goes fairly well at FB, and if his future position is in the halves then he needs to be playing FB now.

It looks as though they're going to manage Johnson until the bye round and get him right then, one more game. But I'd put Hingano in as bench utility as a just in case as it not really like he won't be able to adapt to hooker if Bully comes off he's another little ball player so no big deal there. If Johnson were to succumb to injury leave the backline alone and play Ata in the halves. You could even rest Shaun early if we're winning just to expose Ata to the pace of NRL.

Hmm if I'm McFadden right now I'm liking that bench. McFadden logic, "If four of the backs go down then we have ready made replacements, I'll look like the genius I am."
