Team selection at the Warriors is like NZ elections. We just get to shuffle the pack without getting to add any new cards so we get the same people again and again. So we get desperate
Fusitua has had one good game at fullback. Just one in I can't remember how many years he has been at the club. And we all want him as first choice fullback
Wells on one wing because we haven't tried him yet and Manu or Allwood on the other because Maumolo and co have tried and failed time and again
Kata and Ayshford at centre because there is really no one else
Lolohea at standoff. Even though he was so bad in that position 6 months ago he was replaced in the test team by a rookie. But TL and Robson aren't up to it so give Tui a decent shot. We will know very quickly if it is his position. And if it's not for him I don't know where to put him
Johnson at 7 even though I would prefer one of the new kids that are coming through but why ruin their careers bringing them into such a toxic mess. And who knows? A few weeks with Tui might turn his career around.
And for the forwards? Tevaga would be my one must have. For the rest, I suppose you have to have the captain in the side so Hoffman gets in. And shuffle the pack for the rest. They all have so many pluses and minuses they cancel each other out

Clearly defence is a major problem for us and Captain Dipshit called out players not being prepared to tackle so let's start by dropping the players from last night with the worst tackling percentage - Ayshford, Allwood, Tevaga and Gavet can all go and ply their trade somewhere other than first grade.
Suddenly we find ourselves in a position where we can't find good enough players to pick to make the side competitive, many of our selections involve bringing players back who've been tried before or by making positional changes.
Our problems run much deeper than selection, you could've asked almost any league pundit before the season began and you'd hear the same thing "with the Warriors roster I'd have them in my top 4". So you've gotta ask the question whats changed? I know we've lost Roger Tuivasa-Sheck but that shouldn't account for our whole season (sorry Benry). Quality players don't suddenly become bad overnight.
From my point of view it has to come down to the coaching, Reputations mean nothing in the NRL unless you've proven yourself time and again over a decade or more, Justin Morgan has been a total let down as our defensive coach and while McFadden clearly hasn't got the formula right with this team and while he's fumbling around trying to find the answers the season is gone.
While the players aren't buying into Cappy's game plan they will never be able to deliver on it, we traditionally don't enjoy playing dour grinding football, as kiwis it's never been in our DNA not in rugby nor in league. Lets get back to our roots and get our players enjoying their footy again, give the ball some air, get our offloading game going and get out of this restrictive mentality around kicking to the corners and playing it safe.

Allwood showed that he was a waste of space yesterday along with Wright. The forwards had no punch and Canberra slowly gained metres up the middle. Gavet needs more time in the lower grades, he could come good. Pavlavi was non existent.
We need our bench to add venom on attack around the 30 minute mark and I think Vete and Sipley can do this. Lisone had a decent game and I'm happy to keep him.
Brisbane are playing enormously well and I don't give us much hope to beat them. However, we also need some consistency in selection with our best team, not who is solid enough...the journeyman type of players. Yes, you might need 1 or 2 of them but not a handful. Ashyford has shown that he has had lots of good qualities although last night was not one of them. Stop wasting time on Allwood and Wright. Lolohea at the back is just a waste. Fusitua had like two runs from a 5th kick and made more impact on those two runs than Lolohea did all night. Lolohea needs space and how the NRL defends now, there is no space, so either Wing or move him to the halves.
Surprisingly I wasn't very angry last night just bitterly disappointed.
We have Broncos, Knights and Roosters. IMO, if we don't win 2 of 3 here, CAPPY is GONE, as well as our shitty defence coach.

Truly, who really cares about the team selection?
Put 17 Wombles out there and we will get the same result. Until the coach is changed I couldn't give a shit who's in the team.

Lolohea in the halves won't fix anything. A guy with no organisation or kicking game is just putting more on Shaun Johnson, who is out of touch atm.
Can someone explain what the plan is with Tevaga and Luke on at the same time? From what I see, we go a prop down for another second rower/hooker. It just makes no sense, League is a simple game, and Cappy is fucking trying to re invent it. Dumb dumb dumb...

At the Moment Leuluai isn't providing anything. He doesn't kick, doesn't run to the line and every 5th play option goes to Johnson. TL needs to either go back to hooker which I don't want with Tevaga playing so well, or he's at Lock, which we don't need.
We need 1 or 2 outside backs for next season and a forward or two that can bend the line. AT the moment we have solid forwards like Hoffman, Mannering and Thompson but they don't spark anything on attack.
