Gus planning his annual raid and pillage. Hope Peter cuts him off at the knees and secures the creme de la creme (cheers Google translate).

That’s what I always wondered- surely the Warriors know where the likes of the storm and Panthers etc keep raiding players from, why don’t we just go and flood the area with our presence and get in their ear first? Surely it’s easier for us?

His job description is to halt the tide of players moving to Australia or at least make sure we getting the best ones.

The tweets from Gould show this is still going to be hard work especially when you have an area where a club has recruited from previously. The youngsters in that area will be discussing the locals/guys they know that have moved. May even start supporting that side. Then like Gus is doing they can bring the guys back to help recruit the next guys.

I assume O'Sullivan is in charge of all of our recruitment. The NRL squad is easier to measure. The recruitment of the youth will take a longer time to measure in terms of success maybe we start winning under 20s again or how many guys come into first grade and are they kicking on better than what we have had.

Peter O Sullivan is the best in the business at assembling a squad. The warriors dont have much in the way of cap space next year so with whats left he has handpicked some depth signings from oz as that is the best value we can get for space available.

It isn't Kearney or Cameron George behind any of this, including realigning Johnsons salary. O Sullivan is pulling all the strings. I see him as being more important than Corvo long term. He will get this club to where it needs to be. We wont be paying overs for crap anymore, this guy has the connections to make things happen. Who do you think saw Gavet was on 450k and made a few calls to offload him.

It isn't just Penrith going up north. A poster called Bruce;) has always been on about the Warriors neglecting the Ngapuhi, they have left the place for the wolves to pounce and who can blame them?

I was just watching a reply of league life. Our favorite nrl commentator Daryl Halligan interviewing Peter O'Sullivan.

It was worth watching if you have Sky TV. Here are a few insights re the Warriors, the interview would have been early this year prior to signing Walsh, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck departure announcement.

- 5 year plan of making the final consistently. We are currently in year 3. High hopes for the next couple of years. Same 5 year planned used for the Storm and Roosters when he was there.
- Kearney asked him to join the Warriors.
- Watches alot of junior rugby in NZ. Interested in outside backs for recruitment, especially no 8's. Doesn't rate first fives (not tough enough)
- Thought Ben Murdoch-Masila wasn't really upto to it until he went to the UK and then played for Tonga against Aussie at Eden Park. He was then the player he wanted for the Warriors.
- He rates Bayley Sironen. Important player for the team. Rates him with Harris.

Seeing this thread active I was expecting an announcement that he was leaving.

More due to being skeptical over the years about different people coming in but not seeing things through.

He does preface it with “but I’m not 100% on that…”.

I’d be doubtful or extremely shocked if that is the case.

Every time one of these threads becomes active I dread its going to be an announcement or speculation the person is leaving. We hire guys in these key positions to change the club but they always seem to leave before the job is complete.

I don't listen to that podcast so I looked it up. its on the October 24 episode going over the premiership window for the Rabbitohd, Roosters, Warriors and Tigers. Warriors talk around 9:54 seconds into the episode and the O'Sullivan talk is around 10:50.

Basically talks about people leaving says Gould has left and they believe O'Sullivan is leaving.

Most of the talk is on our premiership window 2023-2025 and how much better we would be if we landed Brandon Smith and Joey Manu. Would help us be a more attractive proposition. Also if Roger Tuivasa-Sheck came back. Similar talk to on here.

If he was to leave hopefully its not down to financial issues due to covid or due to the club being stuck in Australia and he can't go around New Zealand reviewing the junior talent to pick organise a squad for the next 5-10 years.

I also wouldn't be surprised if like Gould he's been poached by another club who has to sort themselves out.

Grain of salt but could you imagine the reaction here if he was poached by Gus.

Was thinking that myself as they have worked together. Then I thought Gould is quite good himself at building a roster. He would still need a recruitment manager to go around and scout the junior ranks.

It would be interesting as Gould is still meant to be available as a sounding board for the Warriors but with how much the Bulldogs are paying him that would be unlikely. I know he mentioned he wanted to help the club but can see all his efforts now going into the Bulldogs. We could see if he's got a take no prisoners attitude, could sell it as O'Sullivan is stuck in Australia and can't fill full his duties so he's helping him out.

Hopefully we don't hear more on this as usually in the NRL where there is smoke there is fire. We often hear players say they are not going to a club they are linked to, then after denying it they end up leaving to that club. Goes both ways with players coming here of course.

Would be a bad time for him to leave with us having released a few players and hoping come November 1 we will make some plays for some key signings.

I think he was the best player on the field from either pack in that game. I did wonder if he could replicate in the NRL, seems good so far
Hope it's nothing to do with his son why he has left. Pos was doing a dam fine job.

I really hope not, for once i feel we have someone who genuinely knows what he is doing and knows what it takes to build a successful team. His salary cap management is second to none in the regard that no one even wanted to play for us a couple of years ago so we were over paying all sorts of crazy numbers. Now we have someone who has put value in this organization and people seem to respect us as opposed to the club where players go to collect a heavy pay packet and retire.

Has been the biggest gain our club has had since i can remember and would be the biggest loss since Cleary.
