That was a weird segment. Them talking about their marriage issues.

Hollywood is like the NRL and the clubs, refereeing. judiciary. Big star does something and the club gives him a token fine and a stern warning. Fringe first grader does something and gets suspended or sacked. Or NR makes a decision that doesn't go over well and try and fix it later after bad press.

The Academy should have disqualified Smith from the best actor award nomination. That would have saved the embarrassment or awkward situation of Smith going back up on stage and the weird apology. It probably hasn't been easy getting hosts recently either. Next year could be worse or are real tame evening.

Instead after the show they see the bad press that they were getting, especially for their tweet not condoning violence and decide to have a Zoom meeting to debate stripping him of the award.
