When designing the jerseys they should apply something like the old Howard Finkel test. In the old WWF you would close your eyes and try and visualise Howard Finkel announcing the guy as your winner and new undisputed champion <insert name>. Does it sound like a champion, Tugboat no, The Goon no, The Red Rooster no. The Ultimate Warrior, that works.
Mainly on the home and away jerseys can you see the captain lifting the trophy in that design or some cases monstrosity?
The only use those black and green X-box style jerseys or the blue Eden Park variant would work is 40 years from now when they build in technology that when you are offside the jersey glows or the player gets zapped. They were just ahead of their time.

It'd be really cool if the club had the fans choose a design for next years heritage or alternate jersey. I'm pretty sure the raiders did it recently and I know other clubs have.
Would love to see the NRL go in the direction of Premier League & NBA with the home, away and alternate jerseys. Alternate jersey being predominantly the third colour (I think blue or red would suit us best). The heritage jerseys can just be jerseys from seasons past. Nothing under 10 years old for example. Just a thought.

or play at home, sleep in your own bed, hangout with your wife n kids, don't unnecessarily add to the worst travel load in the comp
The 2007 Heritage jersey is simple but effective and has history and meaning behind it. Everything you need in a heritage jersey! Also much better than the 2009 version, which tried to be too stylized in my opinion.
I actually don't mind the 2008 Red heritage jersey as a jersey itself, however it was a puzzling choice as our Centenary of Rugby league heritage jersey. We only ever wore that red jersey as an alternate in 2000, which was not a memorable season to begin with! I suspect it was more because we were playing the Cowboys away and they would have had first choice at which jersey they were going to wear. As they went with the blue NQ rep jersey then our most obvious choice - 1995 home jersey would have clashed. I guess we still could have gone with the 1995 away jersey though, and I know many of us still live in hope for next season!

The two Auckland style strips are nice heritage strips; especially the 2007 one which has the old school look to it. That to me fits what the heritage round was for. At that time as a club we only had just over 10 years as a club so drawing on the local league scene like the Cowboys did makes sense.
The 2009 style is a modern take on it.
I like to joke that getting into IT I came out as an expert on air conditioning. Well the amount we talk about jersey designs and colours I'm starting to think being a league fan is a good start to getting into the fashion industry.

At the moment the only club's board stupid enough to agree to that would be the Eels.
I like the American sports where they have the home or away side in white (looking at EA NHL hockey has changed over the years). It could work if all of the clubs away jersey was white. Let the guys who play in white traditionally like the Bulldogs and Dragons play in white and the other sides could use their alternate when there is a clash.

Heritage jerseys didnt become a mandatory NRL jersey until 2008. The NRL brought it out as a special round for the centennial celebration.
The 2007 was actually an anniversary jersey. Made to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1977 Auckland team three peat where they beat France, England and Australia in the space of 20 days at Carlaw Park.
Puma did an outstanding job of replicating the original jersey. From the colour, collar to the faux lacing it was a home run. The 2009 CCC version, ummmm, not so much.
This jersey is by far my favourite Warriors jersey of all time and is what the inaugural Auckland Warriors jersey should have looked like without the influence of the green and red from DB Bitter. That is one thing I dont like about our current club colours. The home jersey isnt just black and red. Its black and Vodafone red.

That was a hell of a team- can't say I know them all but there's some champion players there.

Not sure whether Lyndsay Proctor is related to Kevin but Stan Napa is Dylan Napa's father. Also the coach William Sorenson or Bill as he was known is Kurt and Danes uncle...
