General NRL & Union Drugs Scandal 2015

That is piss poor from the Mole...Throws all Warriors players and ex in NZ under the bus, he deserves a good old fashion kiwi hiding the little critter
If the mole gives himself an uppercut, and there's no one there to enjoy watching it, does he still have a throbbing headache?

Just so you know, the latest rumours are Donkey's, Corey Parker is about to face charges ! I'll believe that when I see it ...

But the CCC article above said they were not expecting to make any further arrests after Harrison and the 28year player who is overseas (subsequently named as Michaels).

That leaves a certain former origin and Aussie great whose name was widely dropped in this as having his reputation ripped to bits without anything to actually back it up!!

The problem with this sort of thing is everyone is tarnished with the same brush, you almost have to prove you werent involved to get left alone.

What are you guys talking about, it's been quoted here and multiple other forums that some of these names were and have been for many years common knowledge drug users/suppliers. After all they have been to the same places at the same time as some charged, what more proof could you possibly need, especially when you know someone that met someone that went to a night club once at the very moment shit was going down.

Umm... Your pretty much confirming what we have said. Have they been named and or arrested for this?? No..... None of the Broncos have been officially named or arrested apart from rumours on here and forums and social media... Therefore there own reputations are tarnished with drug use because someone's uncles cousins brother saw him selling something in a club he owns...

It was tounge in cheek, I totally agree with what you posted, it's not too disimilar to the JT3's coming, I've heard we have offered a million a year, $500k more than anyone else. It's amazing how quickly speculation, rumor and innuendo become fact in the 21st century.

[From the Recruitment Rumour thread] Did any of you guys entertaining the thought of signing Campo actually watch him in 2013 or 2014? I know it sounds like I'm being snide, but I'm 100% serious. He was utterly fucking terrible. Bad defence, less than no running game, his once legendary long kicks had even deserted him. It legitimately looked like the guy was moving in slow motion when he was at full tilt.

.....

For all we know he could be another one who was messing with drugs. I mean Dave Taylor has been a great player, but at the
Titans, hmmm. Campese has been a great player, but in the last few years he's played like he's on mogadon. Which, if he's a coke user, might be the result. Using it recreationally, but not on game day, his system wants it to get the body going, but it aint there, the result......snale-like actions.

Karmichael Hunt pleads guilty to drug charges, Gold Coast Titans' Beau Falloon and Jamie Dowling cases adjourned

Queensland Reds player Karmichael Hunt has pleaded guilty to four charges of cocaine possession.
Rugby union convert Hunt had been served with a notice to appear in court by Queensland's Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) in February in the drugs scandal which rocked Queensland sport.
In response to the four charges of possession of cocaine, Hunt responded to the Magistrate: "Guilty, your honour."
The drugs case against Gold Coast Titans players Beau Falloon and Jamie Dowling has been adjourned until May 8.
Falloon and Dowling have had their bail extended, although their argument for an earlier court date was rejected.
Falloon, 27, faces four counts of supply while Dowling, 24, faces seven charges of possessing a dangerous drug and two counts of supply.
The CCC is not alleging the players were involved in the syndicate or trafficking of drugs, but they will allege the players contacted the syndicate for the supply of drugs.
Hunt is due to make a statement after his court hearing, while the Reds are also expected to issue a statement this afternoon.
Current Titans players Greg Bird, Dave Taylor and Kalifa Faifai Loa will front court on Monday, along with former Titans Joe Vickery and Ashley Harrison.

Karmichael Hunt pleads guilty to drug charges

Code-hopping sports star Karmichael Hunt has pleaded guilty to four charges of possessing cocaine.

Hunt was fined A$,500 but had no conviction recorded over cocaine charges that earlier forced his suspension from the Queensland Reds.

The 28-year-old has also received a six week rugby suspension and $30,000 fine from the Australian Rugby Union. While he was playing with the Suns in the AFL at the time of possessing the drug, Hunt said he would accept the penalty handed down.

Hunt pleaded guilty to four charges of possessing cocaine after purchasing 12.5 grams of the drug from September 1 to October 3 when he was playing for the Suns.

Hunt, who has also played in the NRL, bought the drugs from a former professional rugby league player. The Reds, who signed Hunt to a three-year contract late last year, suspended the fullback on February 20 when the drug investigation was first announced.

Speaking outside court, Hunt said he was relieved with the outcome.

"It's been a difficult couple of weeks for me and my family," he said. "We're looking forward to putting this process behind us."

Hunt was assisted by character references from several sports officials, including seven-time NRL premiership coach Wayne Bennett of the Brisbane Broncos.

Hunt's lawyer Alastair McDougall told the court his client had shown genuine remorse by pleading guilty.

"He's suffered enormous economic loss," McDougall said. "His two young daughters, with a third on the way, must grow up knowing their father has broken the law."

Earlier, McDougall was forced to deny that Hunt was receiving special treatment by having his charges resolved on Thursday. Normal practice usually sees the charged person return to court at a later date.

Magistrate Catherine Pirie told Hunt's lawyer she couldn't understand why the matter had been rushed into her courtroom.

"Why should this get treated any different?" Pirie asked McDougall.

The same investigation which implicated Hunt also resulted in notices being served to eight current or former members of the Gold Coast Titans NRL team. Two of those players, Beau Falloon and Jamie Dowling, also had their cases initially dealt with on Thursday, but they'll return to court at a later date.

Queensland's Crime and Corruption Commission also issued an arrest warrant for former Titan Steve Michaels, who is playing for Hull in England's Super League competition.
