Any rumors on a new coach? 🤣

It’s Brown’s team next year but if not swapping him at least have a senior defense coach to mentor the side, like Warren Gatland for the chiefs or when Razor had wizards like O’Gara and Brad Moore/Leon Macdonald

I would replace Stacey over Morgan.
Great player but what had he done as a coach?
I just have never heard it seen anything to suggest he is any good?

Agree!

Stacey Jones is a legend but he comes across a bit Kearney like. Doesnt come across as astute in planning but has a tonne of experience.

I want him to succeed. But theres no proven results from him as a coach.

Addin Fonua-Blake
Egan
Harris
Curran
Niukore
Barnett

That is 99% the plan next season. Barnett and Niukore might swap. Brown confirmed Harris to prop is the plan this week I believe.

On paper we are looking OK there, with Tevaga and Walker playing smaller prop/lock/utility roles like Cotter. Then you have Bunty and Pene, mixed with the Kepu's and maybe a Finau and Ale. Katoa and Sironen to cover the second row, if Ben Murdoch-Masila and Murchie do leave a guy like Salmon might be the plan. I'd like us to keep Murch though.

We have heaps of forwards next season, and it's important we start blooding some juniors, if they are promising players. Centres are what I'm worried about. We need some defence out wide. I'm really hoping Asi or Arthurs is

I know Tohu Harris will do a great job wherever he goes. But I think he's wasted at prop. I'd rather blood Ale and the Kefu boys now. Rip the band aid off. Cos if Addin Fonua-Blake/Harris/Afoa/Pene is the rotation I feel it's a backward step to the Amau/Lisone/Paasi/small forwards days.

Bunty is a different player with Tohu Harris on the field. Was watching the roosters/panthers game last night and watched a young Terrell May come onto the field and go straight through. I think his body shape much like James Fisher Harris might suit the new rules. Addin Fonua-Blake is a machine though with the size he carries.

Over the sideline x 2
Let Ramsey through a couple of times

Definitely not a very good game from him
Ramsey was good though. You have to admit. Watch the video. I don't think there was much Pompey could do. Going over the sideline is bad, but there were a couple who underestimated the slide factor too. Sometimes you don't know at what angle the tackle will come. I might be wrong. But let's be honest we tend to exaggerate a lot on this forum. Of all the players to blame he doesn't stick out to me.

I think with lodge gone and Fonua-Blake out for the season? Tohu Harris has to go to prop, with Curran, Tevaga and Sironen to share Lock. That leaves a rotation of Harris, Afoa, Pene and Ale.
Pretty grim but real keen on Ale.

don’t think the Kepu boys are ready but are gonna have to step up

For the Warriors, it was a case of letting another close one slip through their fingers after their two-point loss to the Rabbitohs last week. Addin Fonua-Blake (209m) and Tohu Harris Harris (149m) got through plenty of work in the middle but their attack was largely one dimensional except for the odd shift or kick to the right that netted tries to Viliami Vailea (x2) and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak. Adam Pompey (160m) and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (136m) were the pick of the backs.

This was on the stuff page from the person putting updates up throughout the game. Pompey still ran for 160m though some was across field. Thought Montoya had a quiet game but Vailea and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak are building on the other side. Important to remember that both sides are missing back row threats also. I think this is a good back 5 to build on.

I think Katoa should go into the front row in preparation for next year. He’s playing more like a front rower than second row at the moment.

Yeah this could be a game changer. His lack of footwork before the line makes him one dimensional. Could swap him with Bunty positionally and gain a bit.

I mean he can hit the line he'd be tough to tie up arm wise. If given half a chance Walsh to snipe a few offloads.

It would simplify the defensive decisions for him. My only concern would be his speed to get into position at either marker or to the line.

Proof that we do not bring the best out of our players... besides Papli'i , now Peta Hiku, who when with us was always very effective in attack but could not defend for shite.
Now in a short time, Hiku at the Cowboys has turned his tackling effectiveness all around and that may be enough to earn a Kiwi Jersey at the end of the year.

I thought Hiku’s defence in his final season and possibly even the one before was much improved. I think his training ethic may have been the problem in the way it likely was with Issac Luke.
