I read on IG that Billy Slater is working for AFL club St Kilda in an off field role, kinda weird
hes also working for the storm in the same capacity i believe. Just trying to make a buck. Oh and gave them all a great laugh when he admitted he knows nothing about AFL, in an interview. Just as well his role is in fitness. I think hes only 2 days a week in afl.

Damn things can move fast sometimes. Earlier today I read they were eyeing up Bennett but he won't look at anything as he's away with the England side.

Ever since the Broncos made their intentions clear about moving on Bennett has said he'd find a job somewhere else. I wouldn't be suprised like a player moving so early there will be a push for the coaches to move a year early.

Seibold has been getting head hunted and fair enough as he did a good job with Souths this year. A good sign of the changing times as previously some of these changes being speculated wouldn't have even been looked at. Seibold wouldn't look at moving seeing as he's only been there a year, Cleary wouldn't look at going back to work under Gould well certainly not so soon. Crazy times.

Good work by Souths. Have had an offer on the table to Seibold since June who has fucked around working out his future and Souths have gone well fuck you then, come on in Wayne. If Siebold fails to get the Brisbane gig he’s fucked up monumentally.

Could also argue if Siebold stuffs up or doesn't get results at his next gig he's stuff up. He did a good job turning around Souths, part of that could of been the players needing a fresh voice after years working with Maguire. A risk after finally getting a first grade gig to not commit to the club and look at other options.

Also Brisbane haven't been too patient with coaches besides Bennett. The saying that was used when Alex Ferguson moved on from Manchester United applied when Bennett left the first time. Maybe also now.

You want to be the guy that replaces the coach who replaced the long term coach

The interesting question. How do people rate Bennett's chances of getting a premiership with a third club?
That was hinted as being a key driver when he left the Dragons, moving back to the Broncos the narrative changed to it wasn't that important and it was good to be back to the club he built.

Tigers come to terms with Maguire on three-year, $2.5 million deal
By Adrian Proszenko
25 October 2018 — 6:02pm

Wests Tigers have come to terms with Michael Maguire on a three-year, $2.5 million deal that will come into effect once the club resolves its standoff with Ivan Cleary.

The Tigers have been inundated with expressions of interest once it emerged Cleary was eyeing a return to the foot of the mountains, but only Maguire and Wayne Bennett were considered. Bennett is poised to join South Sydney in a coach swap for Anthony Seibold, paving the way for Maguire to join the joint-venture outfit.

In demand: Michael Maguire's coaching stocks are on the rise after guiding New Zealand to victory over Australia.

Tigers officials believe Maguire is a better long-term proposition than Bennett, who wouldn’t have been considered for a deal any longer than two seasons. Given the constant changing of clipboard holders at the club – Cleary will be the latest to move on in quick succession following the departures of Jason Taylor, Mick Potter and Tim Sheens – the Tigers hierarchy was keen to lock in a big-name coach for an extended period to provide stability.

Maguire’s first preference was the Brisbane job that will be vacated by Bennett at the end of 2019 and he was one of four candidates interviewed for the position. However, the plum role will go to South Sydney coach Anthony Seibold in what is likely to be a straight swap with Bennett.

Maguire and Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe thrashed out most of the details of the deal when the pair recently met in New Zealand before their respective overseas commitments. They have been in regular dialogue since and the parties have agreed to terms, although it’s understood a contract is yet to be officially signed.

All because Gould fell out with Anthony Griffin and needed stop Nathan Cleary moving to play under his father. The Panthers don't technically don't have a coach so should be in the market, instead they have been able to sit back and wait while the other clubs including the club their target is at have gone and done all of the work for them.

Good luck to Maguire. Hopefully he goes well at the Tigers as that would make balancing that and the Kiwis role easier.

Think Seibold just wants to move closer to his family...hence the reason he is going hard for the broncos gig, he is from Rockhampton, I know his sister in law, his younger brother also coach’s the u20 capras in Rockhampton as well

The big winner here are the Broncos I reckon, especially if they can move Wayne and his son Darius on as early as 2019.

Seibold is a very good coach.

I'd love to see a big player swap happen along with the deal :

Gagai, Inglis and a Burgess twin for Boyd, Bird and TPJ.
