With all the talk of who will sign Packer once he's done his stint in the slammer... is it possible that Aussie authorities could simply decide to deport him back here?
I'm assuming he's got enough support in Aus to vouch for his character in order to stay on.

I think he has to serve a year for automatic deportation

So...Eels have added Mossop's departure to the Hayne war chest. Mossop would have been on good coin.

Gained some handy players though

ROOSTER TO BE CHOPPED
SPORTAL
– NOVEMBER 17, 2014

Shaun Kenny-Dowall was one of the heroes of the Kiwis’ epic win over Australia in the Four Nations final - but his future is very much up in the air.

With the Sydney Roosters set to sign bad boy Blake Ferguson , they are considering offloading SKD despite the fact he is under contract for next season.

With quality centres in short supply, I am hearing both the Cronulla Sharks and Wests Tigers are interested in the lanky centre.

Kenny-Dowall is on big money at the Roosters , signing a long-term deal with the club in 2010 when he was regarded as the best centre in the world. The Roosters would have to pay some of his wage for next season - but are believed to be willing to do that to get Ferguson on board.

Wouldnt be keen on him myself...

No thanks to SKD. I really despise that anyone is making way for Blake Ferguson. He definitely isn't bigger than the game, but they are treating him as such. The Rorters are dodging the salary cap again, through giving him the back office job, then "allowing" him to train with the team before getting NRL authority to sign him back to the game. How easy would it have been to pay him a massive sum as an off-field employee as an unofficial part of his salary.

Its both time to cut the filth from the sport, and time to make the salary cap a clear cut, straight forward, un-manipulatable value.

Sorry, rant over, but I repeat, no thanks Kenny-Dowall.

WRIGHT NOT WANTED AT CRONULLA
DAILY TELEGRAPH
– NOVEMBER 17, 2014

Rugby league can be a tough game.

Centre Jonathan Wright asked the Cronulla Sharks for a mid-year release to join the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs .

It was denied. He’s now been told his services are not required.

He is married with two young children, can’t find a club, and is unemployed.

2014 Top try scoring centres, I know try's are not everything but here's a good indication of SKDs worth...
I'd take him if the Chooks are gonna top up his wages. Also he plays like a forward, takes the line on which I really like!!

Moseley becomes latest recruit
Mon 17th November, 04:02PM

The Gold Coast Titans can today confirm that Penrith Panthers hooker Kierran Moseley has agreed to a two-year deal with the club and will join the squad for training tomorrow.

Moseley, 20, hails from Cloncurry, west of Mt Isa, and was a Junior Kangaroo in 2013. He is the first Cloncurry junior to make it to the NRL.

Despite being eligible for under-20s he played for the Panthers’ reserve grade side that won the NSW Cup in 2014. In 2013 he played a prominent role in Penrith’s Holden Cup grand final winning side, which means he has won successive premierships since joining Penrith. A teammate in that victorious under-20s side was current Titans centre James Roberts.

Mosely played off the bench behind club captain Kevin Kingston in the latter half of the season, adding a lot of impact off the bench. In front of them was James Segeyaro which meant his NRL chances were restricted although he made his debut against Manly in round 25.

“I’m thankful for Penrith letting me head back to Queensland to look for an opportunity to play in the NRL and I want to make the most of it,” Mosely said after arriving on the Gold Coast today.

“It will be great to link up against with [assistant coach] Rohan Smith who was Garth Brennan’s assistant when we won the 20s competition in 2012 and also James Roberts. To have Ryan Simpkins and Matt Robinson, who I played with this year at the Panthers, here too will hopefully help me settle in.”
