gonna take a stab in the dark but i reckon its a shoulder problem. Cant remember if it was a hit up or tackle but he came out of it clutching his shoulder in pain

Having said that Shaun Johnson hasn’t fired at the Warriors yet either.

Yep, given that is his native position and hes a crack hot defensive centre, I think he might take the line on too, just needs a bit of Shaun Johnson magic sliding across ball out in front both hands, sucking in the extra defender, no look pass to Aitken straight through the hole, full back to beat, hears a call inside left, offloads to Walsh 20m to the line with no defense, (no he doesnt drop the ball, as if we will see that happen this season lol) under the black dot, TRY !
Murchandise could play centre at a pinch, I think he would go ok there.
We do need speed out wide. Not sure where thats coming from. I presume Walker will play his original Centre position and not in the forwrards, its like we are lacking some poise in the centres and some blatant speed on the wings, we are not short of forwards.
Would like to see Kodi dropped to the back of he 30 in the forgotten pile and lets see what Otukolo brings this year imo. Not happening, real shame.

What he hasnt had is the team that he has now. If I do not see set plays, improved tackling and ball handling, we know Brown is taking a nap.
Our current spine is good enough for 30 points. Can we defend 20. We know Walsh at FB = GHOST tackling, so if we cant replace him and put him at 6, we have to be able to defend 20 max.
Id almost be tempted to give Chanel Harris-Tavita another go at FB. He doesnt have the speed for a modern FB, but he most definitely has superior defense to Walsh and he had a good game at it Rd1.

That is a pretty offensive spine capable of creating havoc all over the shop, all 4 can kick in one way or another. ie let kodi and Chanel Harris-Tavita kick the clearance, Shaun Johnson the bombs, Walsh the grubbers and the conversions etc. Would be a lot of pressure taken off. But again, if they havnt been coached in those positions, cant just slap them in and hope for the best.
Odds have shortened bit, I dear say thats on the back of Shaun Johnson. They will normally start shortening game day any way. I think its a fairly close one.
For me it comes down to the coaching and how well they execute the opportunities that spine, particularly Shaun Johnson create.

This new team list has really breathed new life into the possibilities of this squad, this has the most offensive minded squad ive seen in a while.
Im looking forward to seeing Shaun Johnson and curran on the edge, i like that side and how its looking atm. The left side looks dodgy af and will be targetd on defence.
I think kodi coming off the bench should bring some energy and katoa and masila bring some punch but i dont think they do the defensive work that pene does, would like to see them out on the edges.
Big game for jazz taking the curran role, will be interesting to see how his first receiver posessions, i think getting him out of hooker should help him move the ball on. I think he has grown as a person and player so expecting a consistent performance from him.
This game hinges on how Shaun Johnson and Walsh work together, I think Walsh will love Shaun Johnson's front foot ball and quick pass, Walsh should take advantage of being around shaun. Still they need to straighten the attack.
Pompey has a big task but Im expecting him to distribute the ball to the wings, keep it simple but not sure what type of impact he is going to have.
Despite the attack this team presents on paper they need to get in the grind, the points will come but they cannot force the pass, this team has a habit of forcing passes, play the sets and the time will come when we can break down the defense. Patience is the key to this game.

As well as Berry, new signing Aaron Pene has been ruled out with a shoulder injury this week but is expected to be available next week. The other players omitted from the extended 24-man squad 24 hours out from kick-off are forwards Pride Petterson-Robati and Valingi Kepu plus winger Junior Ratuva.
I know this sounds fantasy, but if Warriors smash the broncos we could finish in 3rd, highly unlikely would need to win by ~35 and have a number of games go our way, but either way if we win we should make the 8 with even a reasonable points diff. Hard to fathom given how horrendous the team has been, especially without Shaun Johnson. But, he might just be the poise that they need in attack. to not waste last tackle with pointless bombs.
When is Tohu Harris due back? He also has some mana about him that the guys will relax around.
I just so wish we could have Metcalf now. Offer Walsh plus some cash our way for insta swap lol. I know he wants to play in Qld but too bad. I will be pissed if the CEO just lets him walk from his contract without getting like for like out of it.

I'd pick someone with discipline and mental fortitude over someone who gets the red mist after any little niggle. The real dignity comes from winning, not from punching someone because they said something you didn't like.

Will be interesting to see how we start - have had 3 slow starts in a row. Jazz is usually good at getting our defensive line sorted so I’m hoping after 15-20 minutes we’re not down 12-0 and have to fight back AGAIN
