Roosters are seeking salary cap exception for Angus Crition!!!!!

I’m a huge advocate for mental health but this is insane! Mental health covers so much. This is a slippery slope where a players form can drop, it be blamed on mental health and then said player is replaced outside the cap.

Not sure why but to me this just shows the Roosters don’t give a F about player welfare - just winning!

It’s a tricky one. Did we get salary exemption when Fusitua had similar issues?

Did we get compensation when our higher paid stars like Shaun Johnson broke his ankle or Roger Tuivasa-Sheck did an ACL and had season ending injuries in the past?

In theory he could be back in a couple of months and the impact on the Roosters is no more than we’ve had from the injury to Metcalf…

Mental health is tricky but there should be consistency with the cap application in regards to any unplanned player absence…

If you listened to Warriors management Fusitua was just homesick and then goes to England! 🤣 What a fecking club! 🤬

There was a time when playing with 14 players was punished with the loss of two competition points.

Now it's a $15,000 dollar fine and we need to look at what happened so it never happens again. Think we would have heard that last time it happened.

After their change of ownership and the 2014 premiership Souths are now a high profile club. If they were still shit like 1990-2006 they would have likely been stripped of points. Now that they are a bit more of a favourite they barely get a slap on the wrist.

I thought the NRL appointed sideline official was responsible for that now?
Probably some guy with a beer belly that needs to chase young athletes down the field to give them the appropriate numbered card.

Thats what I dont get. How did it even happen when they pay someone to ensure it doesnt? They get paid well too...

I assume communication and human error will still occasionally happen.

That's why 2 points would be ridiculous. It's not like the club is trying to be sneaky.

16 interchanges a game not including HIA, 8 games a week, 24 rounds. Happening once every few hundred/thousand interchanges is going to happen I guess.

I guess a little bit different as well when the outcome of the game isnt affected.

We lost 2 points when we fielded 14 players for 20 seconds, and were over 50 points in front at the time in 1995. It cost us the top eight in our first season.

Still not over that lol. NZ journo that blew the whistle too right?
But apples and oranges as others have said but in those days it was the club’s responsibility these days there’s a dedicated official

That's not correct. They used an extra interchange player over the total number allowed at the time
