Thought I'd kick off the NRL Fantasy thread for 2021 as I couldn't see if one had been made. Apologies if it has.
Well, Reservoir Dogs have had quite the off-season. You think the Warriors have been busy? Folks, POS has been a lazy arse compared to me, I've signed a player, released that player to get some other player, next day resigned him etc. Must have done 30+ transfers so far, after doing an AutoFill to start things off. All in the name of trying to get that perfect 13. At the moment my strategy has been to have my eight man bench full of $228 players - some of which have been picked on the basis of some Aussie rag's "21 NRL Rookie's To Watch In 2021" article (which, you'll be floored and disgusted to know, didn't include any Warriors!), so they'll probably suck or go well for one game, then do an ACL or shoulder and be no Cash Cow. As I understand it, picks stop being UNL on Thursday night, so over the next few days I'll have to have that hard conversation with a few kids and tell a couple of "Marquee" players that they ain't all that so I have the dosh to pick some decent bench players and not be caught totally short.
As regards the Warriors, I've got Harris, Fonua-Blake, Maumalo and Frei, who might be one of those sacrifices as I can't honestly see him getting on the field soon. But you never know with Rd1 lineups...
Already booked the open-topped bus for the victory parade up and down my street.
