General NRL Fantasy 2020

I've got an NRL Fantasy team setup so just send me any codes/numbers I need to sign up.

My team are Down With The, Ah, Um, Y'know, The Ah Process. Also, Em, Eh, Theyse Love Yous All, Every Single One of Youse And They Won't Be Letting Youse Down.

Em, Eh.

Not so keen to play for actual cash but please can there be a real wooden spoon up for grabs?

Okay lads, lets goooo.

It's a fantasy.nrl.com comp and the code is: P53ZWNFR

I've set it to 16 slots, but if they fill up, we can just remake the comp and set it to more. Same if it's less. Tag people in this thread if you know they'll be keen. I'll go back into last year's and see who was involved later if need be.

I'm in lads, how is everyones squads looking so far? Cant wait for TLT.

Mine is definitely a work in progress. Not as many obvious cash cows this year, so I'm scoping out sites to see where people's heads are at.

I've halfass got my emerging players set, but centres are a nightmare this year. Nikora and Bateman lost DPP which kills two of the best options. I'm running Latrell there are the moment since he'll be playing fullback and should score okay, but after last night, I might bin him. Looks like he'll have a lot of errors in him and won't be worth $600k+ initially. If Curtis Scott is cleared to play, he looks like a good option.

I'm spending big on Payne Haas since he was consistent literally all year last year and should be a good captaincy option. Means I'm running with a few cheap hookers and hoping they kick on though.

Will probably change my entire squad when the team lists come out though. Sharks lost a ton of experienced forwards, so they're looking like a good cash cow option. Knights should also have a bit of a shuffle happening + new coach which could be profitable.

Yea I am in. Shouldn't the play opponents be set to flexible and not once?

Honestly, I have no clue what I'm doing haha. I've changed it to flexible though.
I assume that means we just play each other multiple times to make up the full season if there isn't a full comp?

Yup, I am pretty sure that is right.

Anyone else keen? I mean, finishing 8th isn't such a buzz if there is only 8.

Not that I'm proud or anything.

Pretty happy with my team - not too many newbies, not too many Big Stars and a couple of players who people expect to be Cash Cows. Maybe a bit too Warriors/Raiders focussed, but we'll see...

I'm keen - anything setup?

How's everyone managing having Haas in your team? Really kills options for squad depth.
I've got way too many < $400,000 players.

Yep, it's not as simple as it immediately looks.

I'm torn between spending lesser money on DPPs - Dual Position Players - or higher money on specialists. Note that the NRL intend to revisit the naming of players as DPPs after Rounds 6, 12 and 18. As per https://fantasy.nrl.com/help/faq

General advice seems to be making your best forward your Captain and maybe even make your second forward Vice Captain.

You want to make your 18-21 ranked players your cheapest as they'll only get you points if a player in your Top 17 breaks something - so I've started with four $228,000 players in those positions. No point having too much of your salary cap tied up in four guys thumb-twidling...

On the other hand, you also want minimum priced emergencies who do get some game time so you can trade them when their price goes up, get another $228,000 player and bank the profit - or use it if you've got the cash - on a Big Boy.

So we're starting in Round 2, then?

Might have to rethink because of the advice to not have gatherings of 500+ because of the crappybeervirus and the NRL decide not to play on.
