Support/Announcement NRL Discussion Thread - with comments from broncos and manly fans

So this cross forum chat has been going on for 2 weeks now. So requesting feedback. Any ideas to improve?

Before i get feedback, we do have these on the to do list for this functionality:
- enables 'likes' to be cross forum on the round discussion cross forum thread.
- display external users avatars or make the posts look more seamless.

We have no intention of adding other nrl forums to the cross forum thread so it will likely be silvertails and broncoshq for now. Saw a post asking how to disable this cross forum chat so you dont see other forums posts. You can do this by 'ignoring' the users:

I think it is a good concept. The worry is that tossers can use it o troll, but it has been really good.

Just a suggestion how about the idea of a shared thread with the club we play each week?

I think initially there was a little banter between the clubs but by the second week that had settled down and it’s been just become a bigger group to chat with and well mannered.

Benefits are a wider perspective and external opinions which has been good. Already picked up some insights that I didn’t know about. Individualising their posters with avatars will allows us to build knowledge of their personalities over time.

Only negative is the quantity of posts and inability to keep up - but not really a big issue but it’s hard to reply when your 8 pages behind 🤣

Great addition, but would keep it to only the NRL round general discussion.

That is possible when we play broncos or manly, but not for other club forums as most of the others use a different platform or have a high level of toxic comments on their forums which will stem onto here.

Intention is to use it for NRL round general discussion, and gameday threads when we play manly/brisbane.

Also a quick note since this issue keeps popping up. If anyone posts anything slanderous or libel, their account will be instantly removed and their information voluntarily provided to authorities. Most people here know better than to post such information, but this keeps happening, especially from members who should know better. Zero Tolerance. No warnings.

Esp on the round discussion thread, as deleting a post here does not delete the post on the other forums, which means that all 3 forums can become complicit. Its a risk none wants to take. We will happily point the authorities to the idiots who post such information.

My only negative was found it a bit tough to follow what other forum posters were posting with the generic name

My suggestion tajhay is to list the meta data ie "This post from Broncos forum from user 123"
Below the post rather than on the first line. Still make it prominent though and not in a signature or anything.
Just a thought, not sure if it makes sense. Will leave it with you to assess. cheers.

Just a note that Cowboys forum(cowboysstampede.com.au) wants to be part of the cross forum chat as well for the nrl round general discussion thread. You may see a few test posts in there. Sorry if those posts appear whilst the tests are conducted to ensure that everything is aligned. Needs to be coordinated from all 4 sites. Sorry for those posts but they are necessary and will be deleted.
