General NRL 2023 Round 4 - General Discussion

The Bunker with another interesting decision. Dragons fullback taken out before the bomb got to him, but bunker clears it… commentators baffled and bring up the Warriors last try as another odd call from the day. What about the Kikau strip?
They talked about the Kikau strip post game on the Fox coverage. It was split on the panel.
Brandy and C. Parker thought it was a loose carry, Anasta and the female panelist (didn't catch her name) thought it was a strip/try.

I was under the impression he was referring to the Johnson try as he said match winning try. I thought he meant Fonua-Blakes role was illegal. Maybe I'm wrong.

The Johnson try didn't look great but I think it was the right call. He was a little behind Mariner and figured SJ was not going to pass, he wasn't going to stop SJ. It just looked bad.

Just about to say it. Hynes is a massive game changer. Perfect timing having egan and barnett back, we will need them
Yeah, their forwards are difficult. I think we will struggle to contain their power forwards. They are not the normal big forwards, they are mobile, stocky and explosive but if we hold the ball their weakness will be their fitness through the middle I think. They have some great lines and options in attack. I think we will see where we are really at next week. If we win next week, I think we are 50-60% to make the 8.

Agreed totally different pack to the bulldogs. Bulldogs are your typical toilers while the sharks forwards are dynamic, hard have speed. Really good lines across the field. Our edges will be up for a real test

Sharks have alot of points in them 18 first game and 20 plus every other game. Would have to check but may be best defensive team vs highest scoring.

Sharks are 1st for points scored (108), while we are *tied 1st for the Broncos for the least points conceded (58)

*Technically we are tied for 3rd behind the Panthers (40) and Sea Eagles (49), but they have played one less game.

Yeah. They looked sketchy first few rounds. It's amazing that Nico Hynes has such an effect on them. I am thinking that our hard-fought battles give us an edge. We're definitely stronger in defence. Hynes won't be able to get a roll-on so easily. It could be a golden point match where SJ is again the hero. Is this the week our attack starts to gel? I hope so.
