The dragons have come into favoritism on sportsbet now.
Don't mind the underdog tag :finger:
There outside backs prob the difference..... Vailea still to raw for me.... Berry deserves his spot.... I'm hoping they put Aitkin back in centre just shaw up that edge.... we can have Katoa and Curran on the edges ... And Tavega in the middle with maybe Sironen....but what do I know I'm a armchair expert lol....

I'm liking the warriors more and more on those odds. They have just as much inexperience as us in the backs.

Unless you're expecting Ben Hunt to be a difference maker, I don't see how they're a different side to the one that finished last year, none of their off season recruits impress me (in fact I have to laugh at some pundits pointing to Woods, Gosiewski, Sua, Mbye and Suli as an impressive recruitment drive)

Super high ceiling team (only because of Sloan and Amone) but not good right now. I'd be pretty concerned straight off the bat if we lost this one.

Sloan is the one that worries me- he could carve us up.
Gonna have to have a strong kick chase- I’d be getting Shaun Johnson to put a couple up high early with the chasers under instruction to iron him out.
Being a young fella it might take a bit of the pep out of his step.

On the fox website every pundit or so called expert has picked St George as their dark horse including Benji. They all so they have recruited well etc....

Some comments about whether Ben Murdoch-Masila can play Prop. I had a Coach who reckoned picking a front row is easy. Gather the squad in the middle of the field and yell 'Look, a dead seagull', those players who look skyward are your front row.

Yeah I dont see it, none of those recruits I mentioned were starting or playing well for their prior teams.

If I'm being completely honest Dragons probably saved them from having a stint in the Super League.

I mean a guy like Gosiewski isn't NRL quality to me and he's straight onto the bench for them. Aaron Woods is starting for them..

Everybody seems to think our Centres are the weak link. If everybody keeps their shapes they should be fine. They are inexperienced, but you only gain that by playing, both have played 1st Grade and both have been through two pre seasons. They have to start somewhere.

I agree, I’m not concerned about our centres either. I consider Rocco Berry to be essentially fully established now anyway, for mine he hasn’t put a foot wrong since he made his debut and I have complete faith in him offensively and defensively.

Yeah there pack looks sub par
But there backs looks pretty decent..

Anyone know when Tohu Harris is expected back?
NRL.com simply says mid season
I have searched for articles on him but the most recent is like November iirc
That article said he was due to start contact work around March if all went well.

Mid season to me means rounds 10 to 12 so we are talking late May

Fuck that's a massive blow for us

The kid has loads of potential & I like your optimism but let's look at this career to date. 8 games, 7 losses, 3 tries, 0 try assists & averages 65m per game. Undoubtedly his best is yet to come but to say he hasn't put a foot wrong overlooks some poor performances against both Melbourne & Parramatta last year

Can't blame a loss on a single player. Maybe not the best stats from last year but we saw the potential there last year. And from memory he had a pretty bad start to his first NRL game (or possibly 2) but seemed to improve by the end of the season. He should be even better now.
