I like the team and am bloody glad to get some footy back on, seems to have been a long long off season.

Maybe would have run Arthurs at centre first up for Vailea but can't fault the coach for going with youth and what he's seen in pre season.

Otokulu's turn will come.

Big skillful Warriors forwards, rocks and diamonds backline, mercurial halves combo who can beat England one week and get outsmarted by Madge Maguire the next, classic Warriors lineup. Expecting the worst for this game but this team has massive potential this year, I'm getting 2010 vibes.
As mentioned have been watching you tube pundits. According to a lot of them we are only missing a stand off from being a complete package.

This pundit's prediction video might not be accurate but the montage gets you jacked up that league is 2 days away

Feel like Chanel Harris-Tavita could go well at fb, takes away all the organisation of having to play in the halves, which can now be done by Shaun Johnson and done better.

Chanel Harris-Tavita can just go out and play, could be a good thing for him and i will go on record now and say he will have a good game.

Feel free to come back here amd flame me for this comment on Saturday night
Agreed.
People who still think Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is a fullback don’t realise the game has moved on from those sort of fullbacks. I would have Chanel Harris-Tavita berry and Montoya there before Dallin Watene-Zelezniak

I dont remember a greener centre pairing since Tuimoala Lolohea and Solomone Kata teamed up with about 6 games between them in 2015. Thats going to add a lot more pressure on their inside and outside men.

Could be a very tough day at the office for our centres cause if I was Hook I would be running big units and numbers at them all game. I wouldnt be surprised to see Aitken have a run at centre at some stage. No disrespect to Vailea but this will be the toughest physical thing he has ever done and they wont let him off with so much as a welcome.

Cody Ramsey is also a workhorse who is quick off the mark and we all know what Mikaele Ravalawa can do. Ben Hunt has a nice chip on him and with Chanel Harris-Tavita making his fullback debut I expect to see a few well placed kicks in the back.

While our pack looks like it has plenty of muscle the Dragons pack are no slouches. They'll be ready to match us. They aren't as mobile as us though.

Very impressed with our 14-17 bench. Been awhile since I have seen a well rounded bench with a mix of experience and size. They'll be one of our main differences especially Jazz if he can make an impact at rake exploiting any tired middlemen.

Most excited to see how our halves go. If Shaun Johnson can bring out the best in Kodi they will be devastating together. Assuming we can respect possession they hold the key...

As they haven't played yet I will retain all positivity until after they have played a few rounds.

We have middles who can put us on the front foot and a Hooker who seems to maintain that momentum, would like more of a running game, but no one is perfect.

We have experienced Halves, particularly Shaun Johnson who can organise the team and keep their shapes. Both present running threats individually. Add Chanel Harris-Tavita chiming in from FB as another playmaker.

All second Row options can be lethal with the right ball, I am not convinced about Katoa's defence, but that is just a niggly thing.

Our Centres are green, but both have played 1st Grade and have been through pre seasons, both have ability and they both have experience both sides of them. Plus two quick strong Wings who work hard.

It seems to me that Chanel Harris-Tavita is at FB because the game plan is to let the ball do more work, this means that more bodies will have to be in motion around the ball. Another definition of counter attack or 'Warrior ball', is supporting the ball carrier. As Walsh is not there for this game Chanel Harris-Tavita is the closest we have to him.

Of course in true Warrior fashion it could all turn to shit, but the scene is set with low expectations, a balanced squad, alpha players in the right positions and good depth to have a good crack and really piss off the Sydney media.

Am I the only one worried about the Shaun Johnson and Kodi pairing?

Both have a habit of not taking tackles. Shuffling the ball 5m before the line use to do my head in with both of them. Didn’t Tony have to pay $$$ to Kodi to run the ball more and not just pass it?

I hope I’m wrong, but I actually think they have too much similarities to compliment each other.

I feel we’re vulnerable in the halves on D and our centre pairing could get toasted. Chanel Harris-Tavita as the past line of defence doesn’t fill me with confidence either

The problem with being a Warriors fan for me is that I actually don't have low expectations. I know that alot of pundits don't have us in the top 8 etc., but I do. We have green centers but they have speed and skill, we have Kodi but with his inconsistency he can open a game up in a moments notice, we have a brand new full back who no one ever saw as playing full back 2 months ago but he has some smarts attitude and can link well! Katoa's defensive limitations are only going to improve and on attack running off Johnson he will scare the shit out of the oppostion!

You have to play the hand you are dealt, so we have limited choices in some positions especially fullback with Walsh being suspended.
As far as selections are concerned with only 1 trial game it is limiting for us keyboard Warriors to get a handle on where certain players are at.
Personally I thought a fit Taylor would be preferred to a fit Kodi and possibly Aitken in the centre's for defense.
Brown has been around long enough to know that he will need results and who performed in the preseason.
At full strength I believe we are a top 8 team, so injuries like last year will play a big part in our final standing, and yes we are starting to build a lot of debth in positions and the development of our younger players is critical.
Brown as apposed to SK as a coach is prepared to give youth a chance and this can go one of two ways.
Go the Warriors.

Mr Brownstone

I would rather have Shaun Johnson than Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
I would rather have Shaun Johnson than any other half in the NRL.
He is the Warriors.
I’ve always been a massive Shaun Johnson fan, however no way I’d have him over our former ball boy Nathan Cleary.

As for the game, I think it comes down to our advantage in the forwards vs the Dragons advantage in the backs - and in my opinion their advantage in the backs is greater. I think they beat us out wide, hope I’m wrong.

If the weather holds up, might go to the fiat game of the season.

Didn't think anyone was hyped for Stacey's return haha. That was clutching at straws if I ever saw it
I was excited, but that was just because I only started following the boys in '06, so I missed seeing him play for the Warriors properly. But at the same time I also thought it was clutching at straws and didn't think it would go that well. Still though, that chip and chase to win the game against Manly is basically the only positive memory I have of that 2009 season.
