Had some family commitments so was only kinda half watching on the sly.
We definitely looked like a team that missed a trial game, a little clunky and under cooked and tired out by the end of the game.
Saw glimpses of some good play but saw more errors and pretty dumb play.
Dragons looked there for the taking before we folded

Chanel Harris-Tavita needs to play in halves. Nikorima and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak can walk home right now. Unbefitting international players. No heart.
Vailea needs more reserve grade. Lacks nothing in effort. Looks like the kind of player who would win a close GF with a gritty defensive play or athletic dive for the line. But dang he looked out of place with his mistakes. I hope he gets another stint later in the year.
Yeah vailea looks like he has a lot of potential but is still really unpolished. Why dont we have youngsters coming through like every other club? We have walsh but he came through the Broncos

Negatives
- Kodi, Kodi, Kodi 🤦🏻‍♂️ He was no existent. For a guy with his experience, he was a passenger. Not a lot else to say really.
- Addin Fonua-Blake looked like a man doing too much with lil support. Looked gased at the end and was caught jersey grabbing. Bunty was good but really missed Lodge taking some off the weight of AFBs shoulders.
- Vailea needs more time in reserves. Looked a lil lost. Would switch Aitken back to Centre.
- Dallin Watene-Zelezniak had one of those games we all know he's capable of 🤦🏻‍♂️ Needs to just do the basics right.
- Looked like a team who hadn't played that extra trial game.

Positives
- Seen enough already from Shaun Johnson to know we're going to be a better side with him. Aside from that cross kick he didn't do too much wrong. Especially considering his 'halves partner' did next to nothing. His partnership with Kaota could be great.
- Curran is turning into a special sorta player. Continued on from his strong season last year. He is the glue of that forward pack.
- Throw Walsh, Lodge and Tohu Harris in that side and I think we would have held our nerve.

Chanel Harris-Tavita will no doubt get some hate but he was solid under the high ball and Ravalawa would have scored two of those tries against 90% of the fullbacks in the comp. Not a lot more he could have done in those circumstances.

I am going to kill some sacred cows with my post

No Kiwi super rugby player has ever or would ever, and no other nrl player has ever or would ever, and none of my fellow club rugby players playing in a shitty low division where I was considered a fast wing despite 30kgs over weight, none of of those players would ever have made that pass Chanel Harris-Tavita made straight into touch with no one around.
No 7th division club rugby player would do that pass he did. I mean why didn't he take the tackle and secure possession.

This may hurt some fans but after tonight's performance unless our team
a) drops the worst offenders
b) radically improves and stops doing brain dead plays
Then even though I am a hard core warriors fan it would be best for the NRL brand and standard of play if they cancelled our franchise and cancelled our team.
Some of our plays tonight were not only "not NRL standard" they should never be seen by any professional footballer and were detrimental to the NRL concept,

Tonight was exhibit A of why the sydney insiders have it in for our team and want us out and shaft us with weird decisions all the time.

Shaun Johnson had some great plays, but then still tried a bunch of dumb and risky stuff, which filtered down to the rest of the team. Definitely promise, but if you can't ice a game like that when leading, as limited as st george are, not going to be a good year. Might have some high rolling weeks, but you'll lose more than win with that sort of erratic play.

We really overate our wingers, they might be quick and tidy enough, but they'd be some of the least dangerous going around and we trying to get them involved like they Sailor and Tuqiri.
To be fair to Shaun Johnson, he was always gonna think everything relies on him...AKA the Kiwis and Warriors past.

Of course he is well wrong and will realise it when Lodge the ball player and Walsh the freak return.

I kinda felt sorry for Kodi today....Shaun Johnson casts a long shadow.

There is nothing wrong with our roster, they just needt a little time to realise their potential.

Bullshit. He's had 3 years to cement his spot. He's been mostly average. I disagree.

15 minutes of good play and momentum in the first half, second half was not NRL standard. I was thinking Chanel Harris-Tavita was having a solid game, but a couple of bad mistakes sunk that. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak was a liability and Montoya should have stopped one of those tries, he is in the team because he does the basics well, that includes tackling and putting the ball down over the line. If Montoya doesn't improve we may aswell bring in a rookie who has bigger upside. We didn't have a second trial but we should have been a bit more controlled and held the ball. We threw that game away.

Woah that is some rant. Yeah, we played dumb and lost but fuck me we're already calling for the team to fold after round 1?!?! You're either drinking battery acid and off your head or you've invested your life savings on winning that game and are strumming up the courage to tell your Mrs you're moving to a campground. Either way its a lil OTT
