General NRL 2022 Round 19 - General Discussion

Not sure which part of my comment you are debating but assume it was the fact that he didn't make the big issue of it.

Given that the Tigers were already on the phone to V'landys and Abdo he didn't need to & the reality is that the incident didn't need to be highlighted by him as the media both public and social were already all over it much I suggest to the NRL's embarassment.

If you are debating whether he came across as impressive then that remains my opinion and on that peformance I wouldn't object to him being in the Warriors coaching system

Yeah, that would make sense if his bosses told him to be discreet and curb any emotion, as they were gonna take this to the top.

Still think having a good old fashion blow up, dropping the mic and walking out would have been epic…

Annesely in todays briefing gave the NRL's view

Challenge - a team can challenge any play in the final play before time. He was challenged by the journos present on that and while he held to that point he didn't come across as convincing given comments he had made earlier in the year when players were deliberately stopping play to mount challenges

Correctness of the decision by bunker - in "our" view there was not enough in the obstruction to give a penalty

Mate if the bunker wasn't there that doesn't happen. We don't need a fucken bunker, the referee should be making the calls.
If you watch the replays, Kyle Feldt tries to shoulder the defender and instantly falls over. Absolute bullshit and Payten and team should be embarrassed. Just reading the SMH and they are saying the Tigers may even take legal action on this one.

I recall the media vitriol that came Lodge and the Warriors way when it was suggested that Lodge won a penalty that allowed us to win a game this year.

Let’s see how much is directed at the Cowboys

And what the fuck was the touch judge doing! I mean we have taken it away from the officials now to the point they don't even rely on thier own feel for the game.

The officiating is all wrong. Irrespective of potentially favouring some teams, I think it’s 100% clear that the officials are slightly easier on the team behind and are harder on the team ahead to ensure closer matches. 50/50 calls seem to go this way. They want the better team to win but in closer results. A form of handicapping. Does anyone not agree with this?

It’s illogical that possession ‘will always even up’ in the second half. But we know this is always the case. It shouldn’t happen but it always does. In every other sport the better team runs away and the scores open up even more due to fatigue, etc.

The problem is it pisses fans off when in the few occasions the team behind manages to come back and win in the end. Or your team starts off play really well and then everything goes against them.

It’s actually artificially manipulating results, even if they still want the better team to win in the end. It’s why a lot of fans in a lot of teams get frustrated.

Thinking back to Marcelo Montoya being suspended for his remark caught on the refs microphone, it was directed at Kyle Feldt for taking a dive. Feldt is the same person that goes down in this scenario with fairly minimal contact. Does he have a history in players minds that he does this deliberately because that’s what I think needs to be looked at. The way he got up with a grin would have kicked salt into the wound.

100% it was milked, and the Montoya incident implies Feldt has form for this sorta thing. Whilst the focus is on the refs in this incident Feldt isn’t getting the same vitriol from the media that lodge did for milking a match winning penalty
