Disagree with that, when he wasn’t left stranded by Nikorima he was making solid reads. On top of that his technique was good, cut a few blokes in half round the legs.
Yeh nikorima and maumalo stitched him up a few times in the first half in defence. As the game went on he looked good. Folded a few blokes as you mentioned . 5th game of league against the best team in the comp on a side of the field he has never played on. Solid debut

Let me make it clear. I agree Kodi didn't make Berrys task any easier.
But i won't blame Ken like a lot of others. He followed him in when the kid took off in feild. And kept as close as he could to Berry to help him out when necessary.
We know Kens not the best defender. I thought Ken was alright.

Well said, i can still vividly recall all the posts about how terrible Pompey was a early last season. Now hes our best attacking centre with pleanty of upside.
I will admit I was one of his early critics (until this year really) and I admit he is really looking good now. I do think his early criticism was warranted though, he was pretty underwhelming

Just on Josh Curran and the likes, it's a crazy game these days. Few years back you could be next in line for a position and you still have to hope you might get 1 or 2 games. Now some of these guys who were unlikely to get gametime outside of a trial have huge opportunities. Unless you are a top tier player you must be a little nervous if you get injured

Up until Two games prior this bloke was the most hated bloke on here. I wish I could go back through all the shit that was said about him during pre season. I’m glad he has proved a lot of you wrong

To be fair, up until two games ago he did play like shit..... practically invisible except for his overweight tummy. He's come a long way since then. Like a man possessed . Well done to him. Onwards and upwards.

He was out of position. I think he is still out of position. I have him as our best winger.

He has looked extremely good on the wing. I'll admit his centre play has definitely improved and for now is a very handy stop gap.

Full strength team I think he takes Fusitua spot

Chill bro. He is a junior with a heap of expectation of him and is arguably being rushed before ready. Sink or swim is in regard to being FG ready or not, and many blokes get found out defensively in their first moments in first grade, let alone a small, at this point physically under-developed, half with big arse 2nd rowers running at them. He is obviously ready in many areas, but others are unknown because he is so young.

There is no running down of Walsh in my statement whatsover, more a hope that he can handle the rigours of defending in the line and that Brown gets him ready for FG in a gentle way.

We need to temper our expectation, for his sake as much as anything. More than likely he will find the demands of the next few weeks tough, and he needs to be managed through that.

But yes, sink or swim. Putting a rookie out there is a leap of faith. They will either handle it or need more development. Sink or swim in this instance is not a long-term, definitive comment.

In case it is being missed in translation, I think Walsh is pretty fucking amazing. I won't be one of the ones with the pitchfork out if he misses a dozen tackles.
Agreed.

I saw enough to be convinced that Walsh's development at the cost of wins is worth it. If he misses tackles and we lose games I will not be crying about it.

It astounds me that we pulled off this move to get him here, Broncos fans will be spewing. Although to be fair, the Warriors will ear mark the million dollar price tag for his upgrade down the line so at least financially his future will be secure, and he is worth that sort of money.

The boys boot is what has me sold. Such a desperately needed quality in a Warriors star player.

More specifically tactical distance, he can boot it for miles and his bombs are massive, most halves or spine players in NZ have a crude short game, none have a long game.

Shaun Johnson developed a long boot after leaving the Warriors.

All the greats have a kicking game, all of the them, Johns, Lockyer Thurston Smith , Fittler Lewis, all could kick a ball.

It is more important than the running game, but he has one of those two.

Passing, stepping, wow.

I too am a little anxious that we do not break the new Ferrari. Just build him up.

We saw with Ponga how he burst onto the scene then has been getting smashed. That is a reality of the game.

The other concern I have is position swapping.

Something the Warriors do horribly, swap young spine players around till they do not know if they are Arthur of Mather.

Lastly I worry that we need to buy a decent organising half, sure Walsh could do it....but he would be somewhat wasted imo as the halfback when he has that step and speed that suits the second receiver roll.

Just because Walsh could be a better organiser than Kodi or Chanel Harris-Tavita it is not reason enough to use him as such.

I do not see Kodi nor Chanel Harris-Tavita as organizing halves, I do not believe Chanel Harris-Tavita will learn to organize a game at the Warriors.

I think we need to buy in someone else in preparation for Walsh to go to the back and be a ball playing extra man into the line with Chanel Harris-Tavita as a running six.

In the meantime, I am not unhappy to see Walsh play halfback, as an attacking player he is a better number 1 number 6 and number 7 than what we have.

Good problem to have.
