I was impressed with Berry’s quick passing out to the wing. Defense came up quick on him but still managed to give a quick ball right on the chest. Always seemed to be supporting to which is good signs. Definitely hope he continues to improve. Could our joseph manu.

Walsh is definitely a better half than fullback. On defense alone i think that. Hes everything weve been wanting in a half. good boot, speed and confident. Easier to find a decent fullback at the moment. Chanel Harris-Tavita to 14 In case kodi gets the wobbles again.

nico hynes at fullback with a backup hooker like rein or starling will be icing on the cake
How can you say with such confidence he is a better half than fullback? You have seen 1 game of each against wildly different opposition?

He’s a big fucking human that young Kosi. Talk about being thrown in the deep end. Geezus. Glad he made it out alive.

Not many get that opportunity to play a full 80min so I thought he did well given the circumstances.

The first try in the second half was a kick over him - could have stood a little deeper perhaps? who knows...

Second try literally from kick off he missed a simple tackle and they were away ...

The last 30mins of the game must have felt like one of the longest in his life... I’m not surprised he broke down at the end of the game. Emotion got to him.

I have to wonder though, does the experience make them stronger, or put self doubt in his ability?? I guess it depend on his mental fortitude.
Look forward to seeing how he develops going forward, and challenging Ken for his wing spot.
Don’t you mean David?

Same here, said it before, it was a panic buy after Rudolph backflipped.

He's always been fucking useless and not even better than the guy he replaced in Paasi. Just now remembering people defending his shit QCup performances earlier in the year
I thought he was preety good today. Took the toughest carries.
Walsh is looking like the best young player to ever pull on the Jumper for the Warriors.

That full deck of cards he has to play with will not be counter coached right out of the game.

He has vision, and while I agree they will try to shut him down, provided the Warriors do not leave him to do everything, like they did with Shaun Johnson and Shaun Johnson then Walsh will thrive year on year.

He has the speed to create, the passing game to surpass the SJs, the boot to give him options, a lot of shit was thrown at him that game and he got the ball away off the boot anyway.

He ran between two defenders and committed both of them then offloaded like a seasoned forward. He did that from a support playing position chasing Kodi, that is League porn in this side, a player that chased Kodi then instead of trying to beat the defenders he took them out of it to create a Try, that is next level smarts and an obscene amount of cockyness for an eighteen year old.

Walsh will dominate in the NRL provided he stays fit in the vast majority of games he plays in, because he is a very rare all rounder and a complete freak of a player.

He reminds me of Thurston, can do anything. but more importantly he looks a lot brighter in the thinking department than our previous instinctive players and that is really where he will be a great footballer.

You have to remember Walsh is going to play off the back of one of the best prop rotations the Warriors have ever employed and one of the best forward packs in the NRL.

It is al coming together, Walsh will not become average or just a good player, provided he learns to defend, he is the most complete player this club has ever run out on the park.

POS is getting guys who will ensure we have a roster to use the new wonder mite.

I know it is un popular to nominate the next Carlos Daley around here, but with Walsh it is so obvious that he is the real thing, and I am going to love watching him become increasingly dangerous for the Warriors as he works out what he can do. More importantly it will be amazing when he works out what the others around him can do, he has that level of confidence and influence to get the most out of our players.
I love how when we got the penalty for the late shot on Walsh in the first half he was in there pointing at the posts for the 2 and then he signalled for everyone to come in for a "chat". Now that's confidence!!

Have to mention young Kosi shedding a tear at the end of the game. Probably felt a bit responsible for us nearly losing the game. First, first grade game & i wasn't expecting much.
Keep your head up young fulla.
And to the dick heads putting the boot into him. Pull your fucking heads in.
People just need perspective on the situation. The one thing I've noticed on this forum over the years in regards to young players in particular, the general view is that if you're not a superstar straight away then you shouldn't be in the NRL.

He's on a development contract (if that?) he's not supposed to come in and set the world on fire or even actually be that good to begin with.

Yeah he made some basic mistakes but overall i think he did more good things than bad. I hope they keep him around next year. Certainly has more natural ability on the wing than Ken Maumalo did at the same age, despite having identical bodies.

Only speaking from what I've seen so far in the two games which is only to be taken with a grain if salt. His Size, Skillset and what I saw on defense in the 1 game as a fullback so far suggests he is a 100% quality half, 80% quality fullback. Hard to deny he's a better half than fullback based off what we've seen. Now if it was possible to get a quality half (which its not) then we wouldn't have this conversation. He's the best half we have in the team right now, easier to find quality fullbacks at the moment. Regardless of that, I still think he's a better 6/7.

I take it that you think he's better suited as a fullback. Interested to know your thoughts

Not a fan of Evans either but that was his best game for us. Dont get the hate sometimes. He's doing his job, not everyone's a rollicking game breaker.
100%...he was very solid, if somewhat dull..all our forwards cannot be game breakers.

Careful careful...posting sane comments on this site will get ya shot! The same people calling out Evans were probably the same people belittling the selection of Curran a few weeks back 🤦🏻‍♂️ He totally did his job...doesnt deserve the hate for mind
Ah dammit I have to weigh in. I love stats as well! Like Josh Curran making the most errors, missing the most tackles, making the most ineffective tackles. What a trifecta! Unfortunately there isn't a stat for what I like to call the "Nathan Friend, makes the tackle but gets taken for a 6 metre ride and then allows a quick play of the ball" stat. Because Curran would've won that as well. As for Kane Evans, I thought that was by far his best game for us, but his brainless back to back 6 agains when he was tired about 18mins into the game was incredibly selfish and risked a momentum shift at a time when the Cowboys weren't in the game.

Honestly I don't have an opinion yet, the reason I jump on comments like yours is we don't have to pick his position right now. We need to see him play both and also in a non injury ravaged team. I am just sitting back and watching and enjoying his play for now

On the topic of Kane and your love for stats, would love to know how many metres of his 100 odd came from kick off's as I am pretty sure it went to him at least 3 times.....

This is only a forum and not a letter to the coach we have every reason to give our "Justified" opinions.

The spine is the most vital part of the team, yet none of our spine is guaranteed at the moment apart from Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (Where Walsh was signed to play). The discussion is definitely warranted. He is far too good to be left out of the team and his best spot for the good of the team for now is in the halves. So whether he's a better fullback or not, he's best to play as a half. He's not a better fullback than Roger Tuivasa-Sheck right now, that's for sure.

Completely agree with your comments, no problem with the discussion but the way people put it sounds like a done deal locked and loaded no need to question it

Oath!
Finally seeing why the heck the club has kept him around.
I hope they are considering him for 13. He has a great brain, he is fit and skillful. We are trying to manufacture that position at the moment. With a strong performing genuine 4 prop rotation and Tohu Harris going back to the 2nd row Curran could cause havoc on tackles 3 to 5

The most telling of all stats...Rocco, Reece, new bloke, and Pompey, have a total of 25 NRL games between them, Pompey has 23 alone...

And we won.

2nd half comeback was also expected from the Cowboys, currently this is form the last few games.

Any criticism of a bloke on debut is terrible. Did anyone criticise Walsh last week for his errors?

I'm liking Rocco Berry, it must be those skinny legs....

And Egan, again, by not overplaying his hand, plays better.

And it's nice to see us with pace, pace always causes problems for the opposition.

Some nice selection headaches coming up for Brown and his team.

Kane Evans went OK

Jazz had a shocker

Bunty seems not to be getting the ball at pace anymore, either he's not timing it right or the delivery is not as expected, that's his main weapon.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is a better fullback than a winger

Kodi runs, we score tries.

Walsh has a big kick on him which is good to see.

Wins a win no matter how ugly.

Cowboys were gifted a ton of possession in the 2nd half because of our error rate. It was only because of this that they were able to attack our edges.

It amazes me that more people don't complain about Justin Morgans shitty defensive plans on the edge. Its made every player we've used on the edges look shit house. Drives me mad seeing them all rush in then back peddle with no sweepers covering. Every fucking time! What amazes me is that Rocco Berry actually did pretty well considering the massive defensive handicap he's been dealt by Morgan.

The sooner we fuck Morgan off the better we'll be...

No doubt teams are on to us, forcing us to compress further and further then adding numbers and shifting it wide.

Good sides play up tempo and exploit our edges with ease.
