Manly lucky to still be in this, they are on the ropes. Need some oranges.

It seems like Ivan Cleary may go on to be one of the great coaches of the modern era.

Where would be now if we still had him (and therefore probably Nathan)?

It seems our poor identification of talent extends from players to coaches, and as a result, probably to most staff in the club.

In the past I believed we just couldn't attract talent. But more and more I think it is just that we can't identify it and let it slip through our hands.

I wonder how we can do better.

Anyone else still mind blown looking at the ladder and seeing us in 8th? Considering our regular issues, combined with the terrible injury luck so far this season, I'd have pegged us at 12th. We're still in position to determine our own finals footy here, with several important players still to return.

Dont think the Tigers fans would agree with you on that bro.
He fucked them totally, Packer, Mbye, Matulino and Reynolds on crazy overs.
I think he was there when Tedesco and Moses left too.
I'm not saying hes a bad coach but this Panthers team is more to do with the years of Panthers planning then his coaching.

We have great depth.

Tomorrow’s game is critical to stay in the hunt for a top 8 spot.

I’d say this panthers team is a fluke.

They all seem to be best mates and oozing confidence. It sickens me with jealousy, especially when he could have been coaching us... and solving our halves problem.... ugh...

A lot of the Tigers issues around retention probably lands at Jason Taylor's feet rather than Cleary's. That and the fact Moses, Tedesco, Woods and Brooks all came off contract at the same time as each other.

Considering we were billed as having a hard draw, we only play the Rabbits, Eels, Panthers and Storm once a piece, and have played our one and only game against the Roosters. A finals spot is there for the taking if we are good enough.

The storm are so clinical and consistent.

They are the epitome of a perfect team.

Everyone knows their role well. Everyone trusts each other and the process.

I can really see what Kearney was trying to achieve with our team.

He just had the wrong ingredients to execute it. Like a cheap made in China version.

As for the Titans and Broncos game... what a great spectacle for your average fan, but your hardcore followers will be shocked at the appalling defensive structures and lines.. ..
Yeah the storm sure consistently cheat, I mean it's so obvious when they get a set restart they hold down on tackle one.

I was actually just looking at the draw 5mins ago and thinking the same. Given how weak the competition is this season, injuries permitting we are a definite chance to sneak in.

If I’ve got it right we play panthers and Storm both 4 days after origin, which should work in our favour as well.

Injuries are the key for us. We're at our 5th or 6th ranked centres, 3 of our starting forwards out last week, starting half out. A year of player development gone last year.
It's crazy that we're sitting in 8th place.

Think it's because below 5th it's really who wants to show some consistency can have the spots. As you say given our injury toll we're going ok. Should have had the Newy game and the Eagles games really, given how the games played out.

It's crazy that Ponga can go whole sets without touching the ball. Esp with Pearce out with Injury.
Green couldn't even kick it on the 5th a few sets back, shuffled the ball on to the centre!! :D

The funniest bit was Green was offside at that scrum by about 5 metres and still missed him.
