The coaching staff told him he wasn't good enough to play on the edge in the 2018 offseason, so they fattened him up in the pre-season and told him he had to play in the middle. They did this this to a young kid, which clearly affected the way he played the game and his confidence.

Anyone else remember the good old days of the NRL, when even when the Warriors sucked you could still sit back and enjoy the other games knowing that 2/3 of them would be epic battles which went down to the wire.

It kept me going in the Warriors (many) tough times.

Just not feeling at the moment. Seems like somebody broke the NRL.

I know you're a bit off Katoa atm, but he will come right hes still young. The club obviously had Tohu Harris, Katoa, Murch, and now Sironen who they believed were better prospects on the edge so we can't really be mad there they're a solid bunch.

In round 1 of 2018 in Perth Papali'i was killing it like what we're seeing this season, he did his knee in that game. Then when he came back later in the season he just looked semi injured and off the pace for the rest of that year. Then in that next pre is when they decided he was a middle and plumped him up, we all know what happened from there in 2019/20.

What always seems to get lost is that he's still only 22, he's just a kid.

Because there is such a massive gulf between the top and the bottom teams now. Almost like there should be two parallel competitions, such is the distance between them. Would mean closer and more exciting games.

When SK left & Payten took over he improved 10 fold.
I always liked the kid.
But our club like some of our forum members are to quick to push the get him the fuck out of here button.

Players aren't allowed to have a slump in form. Aren't allowed to find their feet again. It's fuck off & don't come back. Some deserve it. Some, Like Papa. Who is only young needed some more time to grow.

We did it to Shaun Johnson, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Nuikore, And many others.
We are doing it to Ken, Fusitua, Jazz, Hiku now.

I remember when Josh Papalii was offered to us a few years ago.
Everyone on here said FUCK OFF! He's shit. Well, Now look Lol.

We are quick to label supporters of other teams the worst this & that.
But we are as bad as the rest if not worse. 2 quick to judge & want heads to roll. & not have enough patience.

I agree BeastMode, was a loosie in rugby so had some ball skills and mobility - averaging 145m a game so far this season and 34 tackles with no misses!
