i just watched the tackle... was it really that bad? joey manu was dropping down and latrell's trying to put a shot on em. super dumb low percentage play, intentionally reckless for sure, but I don't think it was supposed to hit his head like that. I dunno, league players aren't the smartest bunch.

He needs to learn a lesson but the NRL just won't discipline him appropriately. Jack Hetherington is being rubbed out for poor technique but I don't see him playing with such a reckless, intimidating stand over thug-like demeanor that Latrell carries.
It's very disappointing and smacks of double standards, worse yet is Wayne Bennett hasn't reigned him in. When Will Chambers crossed the line the Sharks made a moral decision to unofficially stand him down and should be applauded for doing so.
It's high time something is done before matters are taken into the players hands.

Mitchell should be arrested for GBH and thrown in the slammer with his contract torn up for bringing the game into disrepute.

You’re totally right, that is supposed to be a mate in Manu. There’s something not right upstairs with the guy, you can see a red mist comes over him just by looking at the expression on his face, teeth start grinding etc. What’s more gutless is nobody will call him out. Ashley Klein is a sad excuse for a man, let it get beyond him on the field and Perenara copping the brunt.

How the f*** has he not been suspended more often. Pretty much every game he does something that I would consider a police matter. NRL must have an endless supply of wet bus tickets with his name on them. That shot is an instant send off. It was a deliberate and extremely dangerous shoulder charge to the head. It’s a 10 week suspension for mine and if he had been dealt with properly in the past his loading would make it 20 weeks. You have to feel a bit sorry for guys like Lodge, Radley, Heatherington who have form for carelessness but are nowhere near the same level of intentional thuggery. I dislike him more than any other player. He could have caused permanent damage to Manu.

The obvious reason Mitchell gets away with dog acts like that is all about the elephant in the room. For legal reasons I’m not going to infer what that is! As far as Bennet goes not reigning him in why would you? If you(as coach),know he has a trump card and the powers that be kowtow to him.,why wouldn’t you allow it? If J Hetherington was able to get away with that kind of carry on,as a coach would you train it out of him. Or tell him to keep on keeping on with impunity? I don’t agree nor condone it in any way shape or form. But,it’s coaching 101. If you can get away with it can’t be illegal. Against the spirit of the game,as is taking a dive,but it still goes on…….

I don't know the guys background but it's almost like he is the "unofficial" poster boy for aspiring indigenous youth and that you can do well in life despite your upbringing so he is treated way, way, way too softly by referees, the bunker, match review committee and judiciary.

I watched the tackle before I saw the injury ao maybe I’m seeing it different. But even the on field commentators didn’t react to it until they’d seen the injury.
And the reason they didntwe see these kinds of hits every week (shoulder to the head, swinging arm), some of the time without penalty if you do it to a warriors player. They need to stamp it out entirely, not just let it slide when the player is fine, cos otherwise this something like this is inevitable. Same reason we don’t have the shoulder charge, it got sloppy and Greg inglis nearly took that dragons players head off. Now we don’t have it anymore.
Latrells a grub but there’s plenty of em. I don’t forget what Cameron smith said about Alex McKinnon when that tackle happened.
so yeah, is it bad? Of course, Joey manu is in bad shape. But does it happen every week without serious injury? Yes. So should we really be surprised that this happened? I don’t really like it when the punishment relative to the injury and not the foul play coz maybe as a warriors fan it feels like we get pinged when someone gets hurt in a contact sport.

Remember when he did this to the Fusitua as he was about to score? Not even a penalty then hahahaha poor Fusitua had to be carried if the field. Do you think taking the biff out of the game has actually made it more dangerous because blokes play with a lot more malicious intent with no fear of recourse? Big men and enforcers use to keep it all in check and on the field but now it’s just a lottery. Mitchell is clearly a bully because he knows he bigger than most and will get away with everything. We use to lose games back in the day but Betham, Campion, Manu and co would fuck you up if you got out of line.

Btw I don’t wanna make it seem like I’m excusing the act or anything. I saw the tackle on its own and it looked like the same stuff we see every week, is all. That’s not to say it isn’t grubby or shit

If he had been punished properly for all of his infringements he would and should have missed most of the last two seasons.
