That game was terribly average when compared with what the eels and storm put up in worse conditions on thursday.

Few points from the game. Why do our backs stand so deep when taking hitups. We are getting stopped at near the same point as the previous play the ball. Probably looked worse because from what i saw, the knights were playing off a defensive 8m at best.

Fusitua appears to be one of the laziest players of recent memory. Wont chase a kick and make it a contest to save his life. And our one attacking chance down his side and hes nowhere to be seen.

Hiku for the most part appears to have improved his defence, so im willing to forgive his miss for now. Looks as though hes had an attitude adjustment.

Turner needs to come in at halfback. We need some spark. Chanel Harris-Tavita to the bench as half/hooker/lock cover. Defensively hes is more than capable to cover multiple positions.

Nobody can doubt Roger Tuivasa-Sheck workload. Hes a horse, but has little to no creativity one out from the ruck, and there is no point paying 1m for your fullback to run into props all day. Its just pointless. I really think hes an overpaid winger playing fullback at this point.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck can be creative, look back at the roosters, his passing game was on, 2 try assists from good pass selections against the knights it’s just about unlocking it. and having the game plan and structure that suits him. We’re to boring and structured hardly any offloads everyone’s waiting for the next play instead of supporting. Off topic, think we should get rid of Maumalo and Fusitua.

Yes we should look for replacements for Fusitua and ken. Theyre on big contracts. We should go the cheaper route and players with speed and agility.

I’ve held that view with others on here for a while but you still need that extra ball player who can help create space for them to burn players on the outside - they’ve taken a punt on Reece Walsh, hopefully that works out for us.

Big aggressive forwards and speedy outside backs is the current Storm model.

Youre right, he can be. Which is why im bewildered he continues to choose one out runs into bigger bodies.

Kia ora tatou, been a while since I poked my head in here. Some thoughts, for what they're worth

Pretty excited for this year, and this was a match that should have gone our way. That disallowed try... any bobbling movement is apparently losing control, even if you retain contact?

Too tired from dummy half a lot of the time. Take a few steps, commit tacklers, pass to a half. Steal more ground if you can.

Don't really mind that cautious approach at the start of the year to lay defensive expectations. Halves will start to run, hopefully, or else Nikorima is just dead wood.

Pompey is a lot better than his cock ups would indicate.

✌✌

I think we should have played sironen at centre.
I just think he would've been better than Adam.
But I like Adam on the wing, he could take either spot imo.

Good to see you back RM, been a while

We have a decent forward pack but halves that can’t control a game or set anything up. It’s going to be a frustrating season
I get sick of hearing this ridiculous excuse right across social media.

We did not lose this game due to the halves not controling the game. You only need 1 point to win the game and we had plenty to do the job. Our halves combined well enough to get our third try that had us ahead by 2 with 11 minutes to go.

We lost this game because of poor defence, errors and discipline.

If you want to blame a combination you need look no further than our centres who let in 3 tries with poor positioning and ineffective tackles. Feel free to add the Jazz penalty and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck dropped catch that resulted in try in the next set.

Time to lay blame directly where it belongs and thats the poor attitude the team has to defence and ball security...

A query to someone who is knowledgeable on the rules.

Late in the game Fusitua was tackled in the air. The replay clearly shows this. But the ref waved play on. As I understand it there is no discretion – if it is established he was tackled in the air then it is a penalty.

My query is could the warriors have challenged this decision? And if so when? Immediately when it happened or at the next stoppage in play?

I’m not sure whether they had a challenge left. But interested in whether they had any right of appeal according to the laws of the game.

Not for decisions made on the fly unfortunately, it’s only decisions that result in a structured restart that may be challenged.
