Pretty excited to see how we go this game. The Eels are truly one of the excellent sides in red hot form.

No nerves from me, we really have no right winning on paper, so no need to stress about it. Might as well get on the ride and enjoy it.

Obviously really hoping we compete. After that everything else is a bonus.

I feel people are missing a lot of the good, by being bogged down in the negatives. We have a choice, it is our choice how we look at that metaphorical glass.

I just park the negatives, so as not to lose sight of the things that are good omens for our future.

And no game, like a top four team, affords you the opportunity to see the good, when your team is in a race against a superior opponent.

All that said. specific reasons to like this game include, Walsh and his minutes. Everything about Walsh is refreshing, even his stuff ups. Ben Murdoch-Masila, best forward we have seen since the arrival of Tohu Harris. Knowing that when Addin Fonua-Blake comes back in, Ben Murdoch-Masila goes up another level.

The twin towers of the Warriors.

They are attacking dynamite.

Speaking of Tohu Harris, I was delighted to see him crash over for a try two weeks ago....I think we have forgotten what an attacking weapon Harris is....and I believe, that he will be a real weapon in future.

Why? what will change with Tohu Harris being forgotten as a tackle bot?

Well we have added the most defensive pieces to a Warriors pack that we have ever fielded.

Harris
Curran
LAM
Tevanga
Sironen
Egan

These are naturally defensive players.

Next tier down

Addin Fonua-Blake
Evans
Bunty
Ben Murdoch-Masila

These are also defensive players.

Clearly, POS has put a lot of thought into a defensive middle third that has attacking runners as well.

The Warriors pack is beautifully balanced, it is one of the best, but unfortunately, atm the best all round player, the one most important to the Warriors, is out with a knee injury.

Bring all those elements together, get them in motion around Walsh and the Warriors had every right to believe they could go down town then attack with their forward pack.

Except Walsh came along, now the backline can do stuff too.

If it all comes together this week we will win.

If it is piece meal and we lose, try not to forget what is coming, try to not ignore what we are up against at the moment.

And most of all, excuse the rant, but the miles Kosi and Berry are clocking up, are for our future. With Aitken back, the future is now, things will start to really happen when all these new guys....Aitken, Walsh, Berry, Kosi, realise what they are capable of.

Yeah, all very nice Sup42. Butterflies and rainbows if we win.... but if we lose.....

Quite simply, I will strike down with furious anger, all those who fucked up during the game.....

Yeah and that is fine....I did my years of bashing the Warriors...for some reason they didnt improve from it, and my outlook didnt leave me with anything to enjoy week in week out.

I think, and this is the honest unbridled unabashed truth...

The Warriors players are not as good as other teams.

The Warriors coach is not as good as many other coaches.

Therefore what is left for the fan?

Serious question, one each of us confronts every weekend.....

Fair enough Sup42 👌 but I can tell you that there is probably 10 or 12 teams in the competition whos fans who are also disappointed in their team results

I am not trying to change that.

I get preachy. It is a bad habit. But forums possibly thrive better when some swim against the tide, offer a counter view.

Certainly gets discussion going.

What you say is true, if you want a laugh about it, go to the Storm forum and read all the expert fan criticisms of Bellamy.

Wayne Bennett is another, several clubs, several groups of fans saying he has been ready for the glue factory, those opinions go back further than a decade.

I mean give me a Wayne Bennett coaching track record at the Warriors and I will die happy of laughter.

I think Brown should play Walsh at fullback, he can then inject himself when he sees an opportunity and not have to touch the ball every play. Allows him to play eyes up without messing up our structure. Also doesnt have to be in the front line on defense. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck can still do his hit ups from wing and also gives us more pace at wing and good defense.

Our best chances of winning are with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at Fullback. Walsh will get his chance next year but if we are any chance of getting some confidence and getting back into the finals then it needs to be with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at the back. We need to focus on this year. Walsh at 6 has worked and we should continue to use him there. Its too disruptive to be moving back and forth between wing and fullback just to cover someones flaws. Its soo much of a waste to have Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at fullback. You don't see Roosters use Tedesco to bring in Sualii. You dont see storm move papanhuyzen on the wing for Hynes. You keep the best player in that position and you make room elsewhere. Walsh is a huge talent but hes not a better fullback right now.

attack wise Walsh is the best fullback we have and a back 3 of walsh at fullback, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and pompey/kosi on the wings is better defensively than Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at the back with ken and pompey/kosi on the wing.

Nice Sup. I agree and am a glass half full kind of guy too. Would rather look at things with a positive slant (rightly or wrongly with this club) to give me some hope and enjoyment otherwise it’s pretty hard to sit down every week to watch thinking and expecting it all to go to shit

thats fair, but theres more to being a fullback defensively than making tackles that impacts the team more than the wing. Fullback sets the direction and organizes the defense. I would mind seeing Roger Tuivasa-Sheck on the wing for Walsh but weve seen what happened when we tried it against the storm. Got found out soo bad. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck had no impact on the wing

Waking up on a Thursday morning with no game on this evening is a bit disheartening... might have to use those movie tickets voucher gifts that have been lying around!
Oh well 2 games tomorrow, 3 games both Saturday and Sunday should make up for it!

Will you do that while having your Royale with Cheese and Sprite? And get a foot massage afterwards?

As to your Storm comment, fans would probably get upset with coaches even if they did everything the fans wanted. And the cry of indignation would be "The coach is a moron because he should have listened to us earlier!"

I was actually looking forward to seeing Roache line up against us once it was announced he'd joined the Eels, but it seems he's not gotten his Top 30 Boarding Pass yet, COVID issues or not....
