Be interesting to see if someone like
Egan or
Katoa is named in the 21.
Katoa seems a possibility but
Egan not ready for round one going off OZ media reports. You'd love to have them both but given their importance to the season surely neither is worth the risk unless 110% ready to go.
Chuck
Chanel Harris-Tavita in that same bracket and I wonder if that's why
Sean O'Sullivan got so much time in the trial because
Chanel Harris-Tavita's doubtful. Hopefully not. Same with
Katoa for
Curran.
Hopefully
Murchie is good to go.
Fusitu'a is another interesting one. Supposedly recovered from a minor knock but do you chuck him in there when he hasn't played in about 10 months with no trial? Guess he's got to take the plunge at some stage unless he plays for Redcliffe. Their team naming will also be interesting today.
If
Katoa plays he surely won't go 80 minutes so that could change the dynamics on the bench given
Sironen is likely to play hooker. I love
Jazz's intent but he stops all the attacking momentum when he plays hooker so that's a serious concern.
Would love to see
Sironen start and for the last 20mins bring on
Turner and move
Kodi to hooker but with the speed of the modern game asking
Sironen to play 60 straight minutes at hooker is a huge ask and if there was an injury in the forwards
Turner on the bench all of a sudden doesn't look so good.
Expect
Hiku to start and his ability to cover multiple positions in case of an early injury is a huge plus but going on the trial and the last game of last year
Pompey will be putting the pressure on him if his defence is not improved.
Would love to see Hayze get a chance at right centre instead of left at some point.
If anyone made it this far in my rant, you must have the patience of a saint!
