Had it on the radio in the background then watched the extended highlights later on.

I enjoyed it more than if we'd lost, but watching the Warriors doesn't bring me much more joy/excitement than watching any other RL game at the moment.

I feel the same. Unless I've got literally nothing on, I skip our games until I know the result. Too many nights ruined by our mob of pretenders. Conversely, I quite look forward to watching the Roosters, Raiders, Storm and Parra because of their playing style.

In saying that, I caught the last 10 minutes and looked like some pretty decent signs. I'm going to watch today. Based off the score and reports, seems like there was a lot of action.

Hot take, but I'd rather see us win high scoring glorified Toyota Cup games than the 'play the percentage' stuff that's given us close to zero success since Cleary left. The main reason I tend to not watch anymore is our games just brought me no joy. Even our wins were among the most dour in the competition. Obviously I haven't seen the full game yet, but seems like that's how things played out this week.

Kodi is really starting to channel his late 2018 form now - he’s had his two best games in a Warriors jumper against the Dragons two weeks ago and against the Cowboys last night. Needs to replicate it against decent opposition however, Cowboys with a half fit Lolo and without Holmes, McLean and Morgan is a very average side.

Katoa Is a weapon. Green was much better last night however I’m still counting down the days till he’s gone. Big concern is how we’re using Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, he needs more space to be effective.

No ones mentioned this article yet, is Uncle stacey somewhat responsible for Kodi's and to a degree Greens games last night?

I reckon he took taumalolo on head on. He was the most insensed when he defected from the kiwis.
The play where Taumololo off loaded in Blairs tackle and the Cowboys scored, the high shot showed Blair sprint out at JT and I'm sure he would of tried to lay him out if we were up by 20.

Thought we'd seen Kearney's explosion up in the coaches box before...

I met the Green version in a pub in South Auckland, big Lou. Nice fullah, but the egg wouldnt roll up his sleve and do a bicep pose...was in his contract, no posing outside of competition time...wowsers...idiots have been killing fun since the eighties.
Havent met Kearney though....gee I think I would still be in awe if ever i did, as long as he kept his mouth shut...or could do a drinking game every time he says you know.....Be dead in the first five minutes from alcohol drowning.

In some ways these Warriors are actually better to watch than the ones who are supposed to win some games here and there....this lot have nothing to lose.

Its such a rollercoaster following this team and in particular under Kearney. One week he shows he hasnt learnt anything, the game is boring, he picks people out of position, picks a mini team, won't pick good players, talks shit abiut the process the model or whatvers next, looks like a deer in the headlights when someone points out a players failings. Then the next week the team put out a performance like this that shows they are committed, in the game from the first minute tio the end, look fitter than the other team, throw the ball around and score tries - that stuff doesnt happen without some kind of coaching skills. I dont even know what I am saying other than one week I want SK gone right now then he does something that makes it seem like maybe a corner has been turned and there is some progress; I still dont think he is going to become a great coach but he did something right this week I gotta admit that even though it hurts a little (keep quiet Fonzie - you are not right until we make it into the 8 :) 5 years in a row).
I dont know what to feel for Grevus, the week that he finally realises that SK cant coach, the team comes out with that out of the box performance.

Anyway this week feels good, thanks Warriors.

I’ll potentially get a lot of backlash from this statement, but it’s my honest opinion.

Tohu Harris is are most important player. Closely followed by Roger, but what Tohu Harris brings is immense. His linkage plays, he’s balls skills, his soft touches are class. He’s a rock in defence, averaging over 40 tackles, minimal missed tackles & over 180m per game. He is simply class. We really really missed him last year.

Kodi also had his best game in a warriors jersey. Our backline looks absolutely lethal with Ken & Fusitua back. Man, our pack looks strong too with the inclusion of Jazz, Paasi, Ah Mau, who are expected back this year.

And once again, likely to get grilled on this. But Adam Blair has been quality. We’re seeing a player that closely resembles a kiwis or Melbourne Adam Blair, each week. High work rate, big metres & tackles. He’s a fucking middle, clearly! Minimise his role, hit & tackle and he’s quality. Don’t you dare ever stick him on the edge again.

And Katoa, wow. I don’t even know what to say. But we have found an absolute gem on him. His ball skills and draw pass, his line running, his awareness on D, his work ethic... we have a good one here. Lined up for rookie of the year imo
said last year he was the most important member of the team, same day they played and that was his season over. Massive loss for them.

Great story, never knew Lou visited our shores. Must have been a massive unit back then. Even up until the last few years he had huge muscle, for a guy in his late 60s he still looks in really good shape to this day.

Yup, I got it wrong. Watched the replay and enjoyed the game. Blair and Tohu Harris were the pick for me although I thought Herbert redeemed himself totally.

What I'm not sure of is whether the win was a result of any coaching expertise or the players just using their natural skills with the experience of the older guys. Take more than a win against the cows to convince me the coaching is improving.

Pleased for for the boys especially the young guys. Work hard, play with purpose and get the win.

It crossed my mind while I was watching the game that the players may have decided in the tunnel that they would play footy instead of the process
Whatever it was I was so glad to see it

On the Bunty issue what happens when An Mau comes back
An next season Ben Murdoch-Masila
I definitely think Krakatoa an Jamayne Tounua-Brown deserve their spots these guys are bringing an enthusiasm an never die attitude even last week in our loss

Also King V an Murchie have something special about them aswell
An I wouldn't be pissed if Blair takes up his option .
Definitely going to be some good discussions on the teamlist Tuesday
Threads .
An what do we do about Jazz
Good times ahead .

9 hit ups in general play for 82m from burr is average for a starting prop. Not dampening a good win but burr is meh. Disses are warranted haha

and putting our season into perspective our 3 losses have come against 3 very good signs, all things considered we are doing good!

That’s what I was thinking, with Ah-mau paasi, Afoa and tevaga still to come back I wouldn’t think they would all be in there. Maybe see if we can get Ah-mau an early release and try work something out and keep Faamausili
Pack for 2021

Taunoa-brown
Roache
Afoa
Katoa
Murdoch-Masila
Harris

Lawton
Paasi
Faamausili

The thing that stood out to me was that it was the first game in a long time where I felt like I was watching a Warriors game. They played exciting football with some classic brain fades thrown in too.

My enthusiasm for this team has been waining for years, they just haven’t been the team I’ve loved supporting since 95.
This one game has reignited my excitement for the season and to me that’s more important than anything they actually do on field.
