Last year we had two good goal kickers in Chanel Harris-Tavita and Herbert. Obviously Chanel Harris-Tavita isn't in the side but why isn't Herbert kicking?

I started the game telling my wife how pedestrian our attack is inside the opposition 20. While I was talking it was hit, slow play hit up. We end up scoring 30 points for the first time in a long time. Some good work and some nice attacking kicks. The key thing with the kicks was guys were there to take advantage of the Cowboys mistakes.

Going to drag my wife into the lounge next week and lecture here about our shit attack. We should be good then.

Well 2020 has been a strange year.

We will probably see in a few rounds Taumalolo get 40-80 metres and Blair somehow crack 200.

The other impressive thing with Katoa is he has a big motor. Played a full 80. Great stuff.

The start of the second half was a bit dicey with some mistakes by our rookie forwards coming out of our half. When they get the mistakes out of their game we should have a nice pack.

It will be nice to have some reinforcements come in soon. Especially our two wingers.

Thought they played a compressed defensive line tonight, leaving big overlaps on the wings forcing the wingers to come in and cover. Created one of the best hits of the night from Herbie. I hope this was in response to Val Holmes getting injured and not the game plan from the get go as it worked well to contain JT but would have left Val way to much space to work with.
If so this is the first time in - i dont remember how long - that ive seen a tactical decision made during the game due to adjusting circumstance.
If not they got lucky, but maybe they were due some.

I feel like there was a shift in game plan but it might have been more ‘they’re fucked and we’ve got this, so let’s relax a bit and we’ll just score enough to win’

Green's kicking has been an issue the last few weeks. A lot better this week. Sure we scored off kicks but even early on they were into space and creating more pressure than in previous weeks. Also good to get repeat sets.

Nikorima it was good to seem him running a bit more. He had some nice touches tonight.

We probably forgot about Tohu Harris last year being injured. Out of sight out of mind. He was a big loss.

Getting him back was like getting a new recruit.
