Season will more likely than not be all over in the next week or so. That being said this group quarintine may be exactly what the squad needs right now. Time away from NZ' family' friends and even the club to build some brothership and forge closer ties with eachother. THAT kinda stuff is what champions are made of.

Who knows this might not be our turning point but it doesn't do us any damage in my eyes.

Don't get me wrong I am one of the biggest SK haters on this forum.

But to give him some credit he has said he needs to change and has made some changes this season. I'm just curious as to whether he will stick to his word.
Sorry bud, we’re four years in and he’s been given a significant amount of credit, support and time.

What he says is of little consequence as very little changes.

That press conference on the weekend, where carefully explains “they know what they need to do, they just need to put it all in the right spaces” - that was it for me.

He’s now just making it up as he goes along.

Seems a good man, but is a long way out of his depth.

A question. Because I didn't see the whole game.

Did we get dominated in the middle so our playmakers had no opportunity?

Or did we get into scoring opportunities but lacked proper attacking ability on the day?

Were we shagged and had nothing in the tank by the time we got downtown and fucked up good opportunities?

I mean, what are the top 3 - 6 or 3 - 6000 things to improve in yous guys opinions that would make us properly a gooder team?
I think number 1 was discipline, no team is going to do well with the amount of DUMB penalties we were giving away. This lead to a lack of possession and territory. Whether that's due to fitness or whatever, we need to work hard on that this week.

Yea I completely agree with you. I want him replaced sooner rather than later.

Really hope AK is a success.

We really need a ball playing center for a point of difference.
Has a kicking game to boost his resume.
Sure his edge runner will benefit with his skill.

Setu Tu or Paul Turner will add a point of difference on our flank as well, speed, footwork, elusiveness.
Dont care if Tu is not in the 30,the thought that counts🙄🤔😬 and his something out of nothing plays.

No disrespect to Pompey.
He just another big body that will play the role of a wrecking ball.
Wont fool the Raiders.

Like our pack and bench.
ICE was great defensively last week driving through his tackles.
Ineffective on attack though, had a swerve and a step when he first came on the scene.
No sign of it now, just getting stopped in his tracks more than not.

Does anyone know who flew over today? I know Jazz is one, unsure if there were others. Sorry if this isn't the appropriate thread.

I think the holding down that lead to the penalties was a strategy, they knew we were gonna get rolled through the middle by Klemmer and Saifiti and they decided the way to combat that was hold em down longer, unfortunately we didnt master the split second timing required to hold longer than usual but not long enough for a penalty.
So rather than discipline I would call it failure to execute what was probably the wrong strategy anyway.

Katoa was good for a debutant but tell me any debutant who hasn’t made an impact in their first game before dropping off. Papalii is a classic example. When he first bursted onto the scene in 2018 he was a breath of fresh air. Now look at him...
How many of those debutants ran for 150m off the bench as a forward? Warriors player wouldn't have done that for at least 10 years.

I know Pompey has a few FG games under his belt, but he was extremely boring and had no pace from what I remember. It's like our coaching group is allergic to speed for whatever reason. The one trait you can't teach, and we have sweet FA of it. Very confusing as a fan.

Been such a shit last couple of years fpr that

This covid-19 can be used to forge a good team .... there's nothing they can do now.. can't run hm to mum and the kids, just trust Jacinda and co to keep them safe...
Having said that, what a great opportunity to take on a siege mentality, they made big sacrifices already (family, home games etc) backs against the wall, rank underdogs and having to borrow fringe players from other clubs.
This team and the phoenix will be the centre of attention now for kiwi international competition. This game could be a turning point for the Warriors if NZ fans and family even if Jacinda wishes them the best.... then who knows.. go Worryerz... resistance is futile..

Our playmakers were shit. We had opportunity and did nothing with it.

It was a repeat of last year basically.

There was one set of six from a penalty where we went one out, inside ball one out, one out, two pass hit up, one out, kick.

Chanel Harris-Tavita got kick happy when Newcastle pushed up quick on the edges and he lost plan A. Green continually ran on late tackles leaving our last play options a mess.

Defensively we gave up the usual soft tries, Blair twice missing tackles he shouldn't.

We were shit.
yea they were.
It was obvious that the bomb was out in the first half as every kick could have potentially gone the length of the field. Actually that was one of the things that fucked me off, they should have got the ball back on the kick off and then tried to kick a 20/40 right off the bat. would have instantly stuffed the knights as they were all set to run up and the worst result would be to give it back to them if it went over the dead ball line, giving then a 20m restart 7 plays etc. But it would have immediately stuffed all their plans on how to pin the warriors in their own half. In saying that they didnt look out of place for the first 15 minutes, with everyone standing tall, but then they got stupid. They played safety first football with one out play after one out play followed by a grubber kick that was so easy to read it went straight to the opposition 9 times out of 10.
Second half the wind dropped and bombs were possible, but not reliable. They still played safety first, when they should have been moving round. They are not going to win unless they are prepared to take chances. I love that AK is back in the team as he is a kicker and they need more options that can move the ball around.

Aren't they all on the injury list?

They are, but should be healed after a 14 day stand down quarantine. Shows they are somewhat committed to this aus based experiment. Though how are they supposed to rehab in self isolation, it's all very strange. Next week's team could be really weird. The week after that would be hypothetically full strength, with these reinforcements but still don't think it'll last past this weekend

Me too. Would benefit us in so many ways. Also he is the best goal kicker at the club by miles!

Really hope AK goes well this weekend. He might only have 1 or 2 games to push his case.
