I'm so glad to see papalii drop out, to me he offers nothing (most warriors at the moment) but I would go further and drop him completely for karl Lawton.

I think he is a good prop. I thought he did a great job on Klemmer last week. He put him on his back every time and along with Jamayne Tounua-Brown plugged a lot of games in the middle when they had a roll on.

He does possess an offload which is more suited to prop I think. He doesn't have the passing game to be a link atv13

Agree - all things considered this is very good. AK to centre after a solid performance below last week. Still prefer Fusitua as a winger but ok for now and Katoa in 11 is excellent. IP on the bench as an impact forward to tighten up the defence late in the halves (although see him starting over Katoa in game day) is all very positive.

That matched with the Warriors staying and looking to borrow players, and or bring over other from home with up front testing to mitigate 14 day isolation (if successful) means we may survive the season yet.

Would be great to see some real heart and purpose amongst the boys - great opportunity to do so now.....

EDIT: ...even Jess Blair is on the bus now - carry on boys - we’re fine!!

Ok team given the circumstances.

Unfortunately I see the Raiders as a top 4 team again this year and we would be smashed no matter who we put out.

Raiders by 40 🙁

Looks like they might be staying on a few more weeks. That way others can come over and serve their 2 week sentence before being made available. Or some shit like that.

A question. Because I didn't see the whole game.

Did we get dominated in the middle so our playmakers had no opportunity?

Or did we get into scoring opportunities but lacked proper attacking ability on the day?

Were we shagged and had nothing in the tank by the time we got downtown and fucked up good opportunities?

I mean, what are the top 3 - 6 or 3 - 6000 things to improve in yous guys opinions that would make us properly a gooder team?

Actually I tend to absolutely agree.

But I hope Katoa runs through for a double. AK sets up Ken for 2 out wide. But we'll still get our arses kicked.

Katoa was good for a debutant but tell me any debutant who hasn’t made an impact in their first game before dropping off. Papalii is a classic example. When he first bursted onto the scene in 2018 he was a breath of fresh air. Now look at him...

Solid line up, I hope AK goes well, I’m beginning to think he’s got the goods to make a difference. I hope the guys can get up for this weeks game. EVERYONE has unfairly written them off, even before Covid 19. It’s a massive week for Green and Chanel Harris-Tavita, they didn’t create anything last week. C’mon boys, change your angles, run at the gaps, support the ball carrier, prove all the naysayers and crybabies wrong 💪🏾

Plenty have asked to see Adam Keighran at centre for a bit now. As shitty as all this it might be its a good opportunity to see him at centre and see how much of an issue travel is with us being forced into staying over there and questions that have been asked for a while.
A best case scenario with the loan players is that some of them are a good fit and like our environment and interested in signing with us. Might find a diamond in the rough.
Really feel for them stuck over there though and don't think they can do any more than what they are offering.

That's the silver lining I guess. AK could actually turn out to be a gun centre for us.

Yup. Consistently putting in a top effort in a team of players who also consistently put in top efforts sounds more like Melbourne.

Our playmakers were shit. We had opportunity and did nothing with it.

It was a repeat of last year basically.

There was one set of six from a penalty where we went one out, inside ball one out, one out, two pass hit up, one out, kick.

Chanel Harris-Tavita got kick happy when Newcastle pushed up quick on the edges and he lost plan A. Green continually ran on late tackles leaving our last play options a mess.

Defensively we gave up the usual soft tries, Blair twice missing tackles he shouldn't.

We were shit.
