As a non-fan of Burr, this has been a break out season. He is in top physical condition and deserves a FG spot somewhere rather than being shipped off to the UK. Credit to him for standing up and making a go of it this year.

The live in situation really has helped a few fringe guys improve. It's nice to see their efforts pay off.

I am also a firm Burr hater from previous years. This year has been a big improvement but he is either an absolute beast mode or back to his shit best. Too inconsistent for me and I have no hope he will hold this form. May pick up a contract as backup somewhere else tho

ROFL, yes it was in the $350k PA overs we paid for him .

We use to say Johnson was MIA when he was still creating tries and not taking the line on. The problem with Kodi is, he doesnt have a kicking game, a great ball playing game to put players into holes or good game management.

IMO the issue (especially now with Aitken purchased) is Kodi needs to be replaced. We are not short of centres or wingers.

We should have been either looking to Hayze to play 5/8th in 2021 (now 2022) which is his prefered position, or to have purchased a quality 5/8th not a centre (Aitken). Still frustrated at whoever is signing of releases and purchases and I think we need better NZ based scouting. We do not for cripes sake want to lose either Hayze or Turner, which will happen if we resign Kodi.

If we waiting on Kodi to turn up weekly it will never happen, he is a ball runner and only a ball runner, which means hot and cold which is the nature of such a player.

Actually Chanel Harris-Tavita is beginning to look like Shaun Johnson. Crabs all over the place so don't put the shit all on Kodi

1. What a tackle in the air is? I’ve seen Roger Tuivasa-Sheck get flipped over, Fusitua get taken out (both no penalties), Eli Katoa stand his ground & have someone jump of his head only to land badly & now Pompey (both penalties)
2. The bunker. The raiders 3rd try. Why was that not sent up to the bunker. 2 kicks & not an offside check.....come on ref!

Really wish Kodi was an 80 minute player & not a 20 minute man!

Granted the ref has fucked us recently but definitely not that game! Hell there was scrum half our team left before the ball was out and we didn't get penalised

I thought Jazz's off load was a poor decision. And as I have stated I would like to see him only be an injury depth player next year.

All that said we were still in the game when the score was 20-14 to them. Then instead of trying to put pressure on them our kick off person, who I presume was Chanel Harris-Tavita kicked the ball out on the full from the kick off and they got to 22-14 on the pursuant set.

That was end of the game I felt at that point.

It is an unacceptable mistake to do a kickoff that is too long. Yet it was part of Chanel Harris-Tavita's learning process to make that mistake today. And while that is ok as this was a meaningless match it is also not ok as he should have learned that lesson in U20s. First Grade is not a development league.

The referees generally shaft teams that play like key stone cops, as the refs don't want shitty teams to win. When we do unforced rookie errors we are a shitty team that deserves shit ref calls.

Can't fault the effort of most our players.
Just a few errors crept in the second half.
There's plenty to like leading into next yearbut if the refs can just manage a game evenly we be sweet next season.

Solid without being spectacular. 4 runs for 42m and 9 tackles. 1 offload which was on but shows he was playing with some freedom.

Personally think he will struggle to make the team next year with our upgraded propping stocks.

Personally think the game was lost with game management. Lost our structure in attack and couldn’t settle it down and get repeat sets or do the percentage plays. We were always trying too hard to make things happen.

I expected us to struggle as the Raiders are my second team and they are currently on form but I thought we competed well. We bought them down to our level in a scrappy and brutal contest at times. Lots of injuries to both teams led to a messy second half where I thought the Raiders experience got them home.

Looked a little too heavy, you can see he has power but needs to slim down to generate that pace. Worked hard, didn't dominate in the tackle. Was a little gassed which is why they took him off, but you could see he was strong with ball in hand. A little more conditioning and weight loss and he could be another raw gem.

However, he is in desperate need of a big off season.He needs to get fit, lose weight and stop touching his headgear.
