The defense inside our own 20 had some good moments. But was also let down due to some mistakes or lack of concentration. A bonus that most of the points were when we were down a man.

Our defense did stand up when it counted at the end though.

Longest game I've ever watched, edge of my seat. Awesome win. Do I have it right and Hetherington misses next week against the Panthers and then goes back to them. If so it seems like he did us a solid cause he must miss at least a week for the shot on taupau.

Re: the Parramatta loan boys -- I wouldn't be completely against us getting Jennings on a cheap deal. But Alvaro needs to go back yesterday. Two games in a row now where he's leaked consecutive 6 again calls.

Good win that leaves a weird taste in the mouth, because it could've been a great win. If Hetherington doesn't go nuclear in the second half we win that game by 20. He was that close to being sent off for the game, it was a horrendous clothesline. He's going to be suspended for a while. Then he gave away that six again that led to them scoring. He wasn't terrible outside of that -- that 'error' at the end wasn't really on him -- but man, if he wants to be a top quality player he has to cut that shit out of his game. I don't think we have the option of signing him, but even if we did, I'm not 100% I would. Not sure it's worth the risk.

That said, that's pretty much the only negative. I thought we were really good tonight. Looked much, much better in attack (SURPRISE SURPRISE). Nice to see Kodi take the initiative like we've been begging him too, and Chanel Harris-Tavita chipped in and did some good things too. Thought Kodi had some really good moments in defence too. He looks committed in a way he didn't last season and if he keeps that up, he can be a real asset for us. Rarely had an issue with our options in attack and it was nice to see a bomb that went higher than Jazz Tevaga's head for once.

Backline is still a bit of a mess, but there are some good signs there. Herbert's improvement under the high ball is testament to how hard he must be working on that part of his game, love to see that. Pompey is Pompey -- a body who does his best to do the right thing at the right time. Jennings has decent footwork and leg speed but he's a bit of a problem in defence. And Peta Hiku -- they used to say Ric Flair could wrestle a broom and make it look like a million bucks. Peta Hiku is our Ric Flair. He comes with his own problems but damn it if he doesn't make everything easy for his wingers.

Same old story elsewhere: Harris fantastic, Katoa is a gun, good shifts from Lawton/Jazz. Thought Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was better tonight as well despite the early error. 2 points on the board. Nothing to complain about. Bring on the Panth- hahahahahahaha never mind.
Yeah mate we should have known that Penrith fans celebrating Hethrington coming here was for a reason.

Also there is no way management let go of a guy like that with his massive ability unless he loses you games.

Oh well Leopards and spots, good that we are not paying for him, Gould wont want him here now anyway, he is damaged goods.

Some poor calls from Perenara at the end, but Hetherington could have been sent off and if I take my one-eyed glasses off, it is a blight on the game when a player like Taupau is sidelined for the game by foul play. No justice there for Manly.

I also thought they should have been given the penalty try, which ironically would have been a better result for us.

I still have no idea what the obstruction call in the last few minutes was about though. Great hands from our back three in the wet today (if I ignore the ball Roger Tuivasa-Sheck spilled on the ground, which could have happened to anyone in those conditions)..

What is the reason we are winning?

No SK, no Green, no Big Ken, no Fusitua but

a whole lot of unwanted Aussies who only know one speed and one way...

Hetherington obviously was not wanted because of his judiciary record but Confucious say give me a wild horse to tame rather than a dead one I have to kick into life.

Enthusiasm and commitment is infectious, and with all due respect to Big Ken and Fusitua our side has had too much talent and not enough commitment.

If I were recruiting both would be on the short list to go. They can be stars in another club with plenty of Aussies to do the hard work for them.

Also as frustrating as it is to watch Henry Perenara, he isn't a cheat, he is under the thumb of control freak NSW referees and it is easier to make a mistake with the Warriors than the Sydney sides, and by did he make a few tonight.

Main reason I like Heatherington is that he gives our pack mongrel. He goes after the other sides pack leader and gives it to them. I cant remember a time when our pack had mongrel, maybe not since Packer?

Yes he nearly lost us the game with his discipline but this is probably his worst game that he has played for us since coming over. Overall he has been good in his stint with us.

Agree on Fusitua but not Kenny.
Kenny before George no question.
But Fusitua has had the switch off for far too long.

Yep, his defence needs work. He comes up out of the line far too early for my liking. But he definitely offers something different than Maumalo. Don't know if I'd want him as a starter but we could do worse for back up based on these two performances.
Maumalos meters are still a huge point of difference for us, itd be great if he came back. fat chance of that now

I don't mind him rushing up to create pressure if the inside center is sweeping well.

I thought Jennings played well.

Hopefully Hethrington is only suspended for one week. He wasn't allowed to play next week anyway.
that's an interesting point, Penrith have said he cannot play...so does a one week suspension count next week or the 1st week he is available to play?
