Mr Brownstone

You mean the guy that was called out by Cronk a few weeks back about being so inconsistent for a few years and the same one the Matty Johns show tonight are asking him to step up against the good teams? Let’s not forget he played well against our shite team, the same team that you backed Kearney to stay on as coach.
Cronk who never played in a team where he wasn’t surrounded by superstars. Irrelevant.

Is KN really of the standard to build a team around?

I think hes probably gone when his contract is up if they can get some half decent halves
That's a good point about standard setting. Our standards keep getting lower every year. In the good years, a player like Kodi would never have made the team. Then in the mid 2010s, Kodi would have occasionally made the bench. Then in the late 2010s, he'd have always made the bench. Now he's in the starting 13. Next year, he'd be our benchmark. But not because he's improving

So many things wrong with the club at the moment, and the management has so little of the required experience or qualifications to fix it. We need someone like Brian Smith to get here and fix it. Oh hang on, we got rid of him.

he mentioned over the weekend he doesnt want to leave australia to be a coach. mentioned his age being a factor

Am I reading this right, Griffin‘s decided he doesn’t want to leave Australia to be a coach because of his age?

That's the most contradictory statement ever. Not sure how he's meant to teach every player, all those things in 4 weeks 🤔

He's been the attacking coach for almost 2 years now, and we're only ahead of the bulldogs on points scored. He's also the one that's been picking the team and running the interchanges - including thinking Tevaga is a prop.

Given we lose four of our best from this thrashed team, I expect the NRL will be forced now into thinking about a second Brisbane team...the NZ crowd are losers with no fans and too much trouble to accommodate.

Paasi, Fusitua and King aren't really our best to be fair.

All we expect from this lot is effort.
I may be sounding like a Jazz supporter right now. And half this forum hate him.
But he shows a fuck ton more heart than 3/4 of this team.

He's the size of a halfback and they're trying to play him at prop for 60 minutes a game - I don't fault his heart or effort but he's been completely mismanaged by the club. Running Tevaga and Lawton in the forwards on the field at the same time they getting monstered, and they keep trying to make Tevaga some sort of first-receiver ball playing forward which he just isn't.

All true but it’s more than the Warriors. In a salary capped competition there shouldn’t be the same clubs at the top and bottom of the comp every year.

There is a huge gap between the top 6 and bottom 6 this year, it’s not just us. Lots of big wins (there we’re 3 games with 36+ PD so far this weekend)

There shouldn’t be the pooling of talent in a few clubs.

The problem with the salary cap is that the bottom teams have to spend more money to attract players, while the roosters can sign the likes of the Morris Brothers for minimum wage because they like the winning culture. The NRL is supposed to stop clubs signing people for "below market value" but it's pretty toothless.

this is a great point, pre-game the Aus buildup talked about Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's speed, when have the Warriors ever user it apart from kick returns. If Roger Tuivasa-Sheck isnt creating, which he isnt, then the coaches need to build a plan to use his skills. At the end of the day hes the only attack the Warriors have apart from bombing to wings

Agreed - they shouldn't be using Roger Tuivasa-Sheck as a playmaker so much. Let the halves play both sides of the ball and use Roger Tuivasa-Sheck as a runner! Even Blocker Roach can see it, why can't Peyton.

Could tell from the start of the game we just weren’t interested, Sharks were screaming instructions at each other- we were deathly quiet. Was in Kens corner first half and his body language was just shit, could tell he didn’t want to be there, even when we were conceding easy tries we were just going through the motions.

Loan players can't arrive soon enough for me, between them and naming our young guys, get some guys out there that are playing for a contract, they'll care a bit more than someone who's about to be paid for sitting at home.

Sure it was a bad loss. But that happens to all the best teams now and then. The team are still firmly in the top 8 and still more than likely to book that grand final birth. And there’s the four extra players returning next week including our two top wingers. So it’s hardly doom and gloom.

I’m a bit numb with this team at the moment, find myself not really caring and particularly respecting any of our players except maybe Tohu Harris.
As I mentioned in another thread I left the game at half time today, just didn’t care to even watch the second half and I wasn’t the only one leaving. Warriors should be worried, for a “home” game there was minimal warriors fans there, think I saw less than 20 in Warriors gear, vast majority were sharks fans. Did hear a NZer complaining about being turned away at the gate because he wasn’t a member and they told him he had to buy a membership to get in- not sure if this was a factor in the poor turnout.

At a bit of a loss with what’s next, play a crap brand of footy, players don’t want to come, not looking too promising with coaching prospects and we are letting these losers off with constant excuses- I’m just numb and over it.
Watched the Storm game with a Storm fan on fri night and was jealous, must be nice to have a professional and exciting team to follow- miss 2002
Hopefully it doesn't need to be full memberships. I know the NRL want to thank memebers by letting them into the games while it is restricted. A team based in another country away from their core memebership base isn't going to attact a lot of fans as they away memebers would be less than their core base and also spread throughout the country.

You would think they would have some discretion as where are most Warriors supporters? In another country.

I'm also feeling a bit numb about things. It probably started during the off season but this season has made it worse.

Has any club had a worse season then us. Results wise yes but when you look at.
Were going to be poor anyway.
Bad injury toll before the season start. Then more before the restart.
Based in another country temporary after.
Sacked the coach.
Reliant on loan players.

Probably a few more, plus we have a lot of rounds to go.

Both our wingers are shit at the moment. Get our fresh young legs out there. Nothing to lose but everything to gain. Other teams use their youngsters and get performances from them.

How many more trys are we going to gift teams while waiting for the ball to roll dead. Bad play by Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
It seems to be a weekly thing at the moment we muck up a kick and someone scores. Had quite a few where they haven't hit the ball hard enough to go dead.

Had the comical one a few weeks where Hiku let the bomb bounce and they had to chase it into the in goal.

I would like to apologise i normally read all the game day thread and then the post match. I havent read anything from anyone. I am disgusted. 10 mins into that game I tuned out. Let whoever wants to go, go now. Then send a fair few others with them.

Honestly this is not the team i love. I really have no idea what it is.

Yeah the guy we haven't been able to replace .an haven't looked anything like a
Footy team since he left . The guy leading the NRL in try assists .
That guy yes him .
the same guy that played for us for 8 years and helped us win all of those NRL Title........ oh wait, they guy that’s just come out and said he doubts wether he would of hung around with the team if still at the Warriors, make no mistake he would of been one of the first to go home. He’s gone, time to get over it and move on.

Just like Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has led us to greatness?
Look I get what you're saying .He's gone
I think it was the biggest mistake the club has made .
an we have made some shockers .
any one player is only a cog in the machine but given we haven't replaced
him yes I'm still pissed .an will remain pissed untill we get a playmaker
as for loyalty CG didn't show him any that's why this happened there are plenty of
interviews of him saying warriors for life .
Anyway I hope we resign him or sign Benji or someone because at the moment we suck
