What has that got to do with anything? Lyon is a modern great who could do anything on the field. Did he even have a weakness? We cant be comparing Herbert to him surely? Lol

Herbert has displayed a similar range of skills to Lyon. Whether he's as good at Lyon at any of them is a different matter, that we will have to wait and see about.

But at the moment it's kind of like comparing Jazz to an NRL hooker.

I quite like the look of the team this week.

Hopefully Fusitu'a, Nikorima and Lawton coming into the team can instill some of that confidence that we seem to have been losing at a steady rate.

Kearney saying he was worried for the team when they're out on the field was quite telling. Could have been time for one of those Grey Lynn RSA sessions.

I had a weird feeling that we might have to face Jack De Belin in his first game of the season, glad that's not the case. Nice not having to play against Corey Norman either, can see him thriving in a round like this.

Would prefer Lawton to start and Roache off the bench, seems to match their skills better.
If he is going to play Sao on the bench he needs to play at least 30 minutes or we will continue to get rolled in the back end of games.

Shifted out to 23 is a big drop for Isaac. Could a mid season move be on the cards?

Would it be the end of the world if it was, judging by his recent performances? Not that I think Roache/Lawton is a title-winning duo but rather two hungry young guns than one over the hill coaster.

I think we are currently a bit rooted at hooker.

Issac & Roache can’t play 80 and are injury prone, Lawton can’t play 80 and is only OK, Jazz isn’t that great and doesn’t want to play hooker. All up, those guys usually occupy 3 out of 17 spots.

Really waiting for someone to step up and own the #9 jersey.

I’d be happy to get rid of two and get Brandon Smith.

Luke needs to go. He's been quoted as saying he leads the line speed in the middle and obviously he touches the ball often on attack. His attitude is a coin flip though. If he can't be bothered we're in trouble from the start.

Roache is a great running hooker but I think his service is probably the worst of the lot. Don't know if it's about gaining confidence in his back, but I haven't been impressed.

Lawton is a makeshift hooker but he always brings good energy to mask any other limitations. Also becoming a pretty good leader in ISP.

So it makes sense then to have Lawton as our starting hooker. He’s more likely to stay the course (80) and whatever happens, Kearney’s gonna put Jazz on the bench. That way, we only have 2 hookers.

If Lawton’s getting restless, then
a. he’ll relish the chance to shine as first pick, and
b. If he’s set on a return to Oz with a good contract, like the Chad, then he’ll have another very good reason to give his all every time.

Given more game time, I’m pretty sure that he’ll turn out to be our best option long-term. Then we’ll have to try to keep him.

We have to be realistic - we’ll never attract the likes of Brandon Smith away from certain stardom at the Storm.

Cook played really well on Sunday looked sharper than Lawton tbh. I'm not sure why he keeps getting overlooked he's a real smart player & rarely makes mistakes

Like someone else said. 3 hookers don't work. 2 forwards will only play 10 mins each. Kearney is a complete stubborn fuckwit and deserves this season and his career as a coach destroyed. It completely comes down to his use of the bench and playing favourites, always has yet he just can't put 2 and 2 together and realise this. He is that fucken stubborn he thinks his way works. If he was Bellamy or Bennet, he could stake claim to that. His way hasn't accomplished shit. So give up the process ya massive nostralled cu** and stop fucking around. Here is an idea that fucken works. Pick 3 forwards and a hooker. Run hard, tackle hard. I don't actually give a fuck anymore. This moron has destroyed my give a fuck factor. I suspect management has someone reading the posts and it may eventually persuade them to spend the cap money available and putting pressure on the football department to deliver or a clean out, blood letting, could not be to far away.

I suspect SK will either resign on compassionate grounds or be forced sideways.

I see Stacey Jones being safe as he is well respected but not head coach material yet. George if he wants to survive needs to make changes.

Maybe get Gus to do a behind the scenes review, if this year is lost make the changes. ( You might ask what is Smith doing as the football manager?)

Obviously we will only be second choice for most recruitment so we have to accept and manage that, and that is why a super coach is required to man manage and get the most out of his cattle.

Remember a champion team beats a team of champions most of the time, so a good balance of brains and brawn.

I have a feeling that a really good coach could take the players we've got, minus a few of the bad apples, and make a top 8 footy team.

He has to be prepared to be fighting the players at every step of the journey, but that's what it takes to make it as a coach at the Warriors. As long as the new coach knows that coming in, and take steps to manage it properly, it shouldn't be that much of a problem.
