Yeah he's still young and making errors. But he was in everything on Thursdays, making some great tackles
He was awesome. Meantime, our forwards monstered some of their lesser players. E.g. we bitch slapped Welch every time he got the ball.

If only we had've won. It was such an epic match. I would watch it forever on repeat, but the ending spoiled it.

I feel like Corvo has been reading my posts on here, as he appears to be slowly slimming down week by week back to where he should be ala last season.
Last year there were all types of posts about his ceiling. One optimistic poster even predicted he would captain the Kiwis at one stage in his career.
Thursday was the first glimpse of him being a genuine NRL standard "power forward".

Maybe he will be two steps forward and one step back through out this season as he learns, and may not back up next week, but you must give props where they are due and he was a presence on the field.

If they didn't have NAS, who had a compelling match despite his knock ons, then I would have said our forwards out did them and potentially even hit them so hard on defence that we even intimidated them a bit.

Like I said the whole match was right up there and so far is my favourite ever NRL regular season match (I have only been watching the past two seasons since Foran came). Just sucks the christmas grinch stole the ending.

My theory is corvo will be running a strength / power explosiveness / endurance cycle.
Probably in that order due to the demands of the season.
I have no idea about any of that stuff, but if that means we can somehow peak at the backend of the season for once then praise thy Sir Alex.

If Cameron Smith or Robbie Farrac were at the Warriors, we would have won the games against the Storm, Cowboys and Souths. That experience and leadership from dummy half is crucial. Yes, we have Luke but he’s not on the field enough and he doesn’t dominate and lead like Smith and Farrah.

Those arseholes could only be liked by their own fans. I wouldn't want to speak to either, especially after the Alex McKinnon incident.

Theres nothing wrong with this tackle though, it is a surrender tackle and completely fine for me. Called by the ref, Solomona bear hug around the waist as you're supposed to do in a surrender tackle. No penalty.

The issue is when Papali'i does it to Bromwich, the ref immediately calls move instead of surrender. Papali'i is looking the ref confused I feel, as it was 100% a surrender tackle and jbrom didn't surrender but thats because the ref didn't call it. He gets up quickly, and plays it with Papali'i's knee clearly knocking the ball playing arm(have seen a close up angle from Wahs side facing storm).

So while the penalty is technically 50/50 correct because Papa was crowding, it's only due to the ref mucking it up in the first place and not calling surrender.

Yep I realise it is a surrend

Yes it was a Surrender tackle but 10 seconds is fucking ridiculous.

We plain and simply are not afforded that time on our Surrenders

Can someone who knows how make a clip of munster being lifted above the horizontal in a tackle? It all seemed weird.

I’m surprised it hasn’t been mentioned here but I’m sure on the fox commentary they said the penalty was for inside the 10, they could have possibly just been assuming as there was nothing in the tackle

I think there will be a hue and cry if he is not selected. However I can SK putting him on the bench and giving him 5 minutes at the end like Gelling used to get.

I have kept kind of quiet on SK - but I will be mildly impressed by him if he elevated Herbet next week and drops a regular permanently. It will take some balls.

Hey Wrighty... Please don't get common sense mixed up with having some Balls!

Checchin calls it a dangerous throw. Munster lands on his stomach, and feet never even remotely above horizontal.

He got it because, I duno Melbourne were on their line?? Not sure thats allowed in the rule book. There was 2 others for 10m while we had them pinned in the 2nd half though, and the Bromwich one was the 4th.

We only got the one where B Smith stripped Ken on the half break to slow it down.

"But it's one where you certainly can't hang the referees over that outcome when you look at what they were confronted with."

But you could potentially deny the warriors from playing finals footy. God Damn bring in the captains challenge. That was an obvious place to use it correctly.
