This post is eminently sensible. Agree 500% hope this ends talk of him moving to the second row. Also nodded my head with you that Nikorima can't be a starting hooker due to the defensive demands of the position, at least at this stage.
My view, as stated before, on Niko is that he needs to develop:

1) a kicking game or he should spend his time in ISP until he learns one. When he plays half a huge amount of traffic piles on Green when it is time to kick for field position.
2) Defence. I have known a number of small cu**s in my life who were little terriers when it came to tackling at least at club rugby level fwiw.

If SK could develop Ken into the beast he is today from the mess he was 3 years ago, then maybe Niko can be a project player. In the short term I agree he would be great off the bench or as a utility/back up. Pretty pricey for that role though. Mind you we are only all thinking these thoughts because Chanel Harris-Tavita is shining, take Chanel Harris-Tavita away and we would be satisfied with Kodi just as he is.
I'm basically concluding that you and I should be running this team haha

Re Kodi - He has shown potential, has a dynamic running game and has a few work ons (kicking, game management, defence). He is young enough to develop for a half and by all account is a respected leader (from the broncos at least).

Depth is depth at the end of the day and we have always needed depth and quality in the halves. Chanel Harris-Tavita will have a slump, green will get injured. The more bodies we have the better

haha nothing to see here just your average salary cap rort. Fuck me dead as if they don't have enough advantages. Surely they have to start punishing the players if they truly want to deter this kinda shit.

Completely disagree. Next year we have three first grade halves competing for spots and let’s face it, Green will get injured. Then Green retires and we can decide next step.
if & when Green retires...id sign him up pronto on our coaching staff...has all the makings of a very astute coach js

Agree. Good problem to have. Also between the three halves next year we will be paying less than $1.5m I expect which is good value

These rag tag blokes we have been playing in place of our stars have a better chance of winning any given game than our so called top line up.

It all comes down to players attitudes. Fusitua for example has barely been missed.

???Hikus defence has improved a goof deal.

True that about attitude. Remember after the sleeping pill and energy drink dramas, we came out missing a whole lot of top liners and won. Attitude is vital
and has been the main improver under Kearney. I'm not a fan of midget forwards like Jazz but I have to admit, he brings it every game and will bleed for the jersey.

It has indeed, a couple of weeks ago i would have just assumed this "wasn't" a typo? 😜

These are the games the top teams are more weary of..
The chooks this year have lost ones they probably expected to win against the broncs, cowboys, and the knights even gave them a toweling in rd.11

The Chooks would be aware we should have beaten Melbourne, in Melbourne.

They do hang onto the past a bit, they see Paasi as one of our main threats (and potential ball player, go figure?) apparently he carved them up in a Gold Coast game a few years back! and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is expected to play his ‘game of the year’ against his old mob
I think the game will be won or lost in the first 20 minutes, much like last week if we can prevent them from getting off to a flyer we can frustrate them into more of a grind, their cowboys game this year should be our template 👍

Well you can av im. Coz the way I see it, Green is already most likely having a fair amount to do with our attack coaching. And as that area has been by far our biggest failing this season, it’s not a good recommendation.

We need to roll the dice and lay all over them in the ruck. Slow them down at any costs and upset their rhythem. It is a risky strategy as they may blows us off the park on the back of too much possesion. But I think it is our only option

What if we score more points than them, and make them score less?? Also a potential option, very very unlikely but still an option of sorts.

I’ve caught my cat doing this to mice on more than one occasion. Trapped by the tail by one paw then released momentarily before it can gain any real momentum. Cat bearly moves and can keep that up for at least 80 minutes.. cruel bastard!

Clearly your cat wasn't black or being watched by Chechin otherwise it would have been sent off

25 is not “young”

Kata is, 24 and everyone says he’s done so why does Kodi get a pass for all his flaws?

Johnson is 28 and people argue he’s past his peak so where’s the consistency?

Ken Maumalo is now 25 has sorted out all his weaknesses so why not KN?
