Jeez that Roosters team is stacked, its ridiculous. All imports other than that Radley kid too.

Gee this weather is going to suit the Tigers tomorrow. Watching a torrential down pour in Sydney.

Warriors are very much a dry track side these days. Heavy slow fields makes defending them that little bit easier.

Second phase and using fast backs for meters doesn’t go as well.

Weather forecast isn't too shabby actually for tomorrow.

Not worried about the news Roach drops out.

He was excellent last week, but our strongest line up is Luke and Jazz, not Luke Jazz and Roach, nor Jazz and Roach, so I’m pretty happy from that point of view.

Just thrilled our best hookers back, that will make the team a lot stronger.

Luke sounds like he has got himself fit, he must have really worked on that rehab, presumably if he has that attitude his all round fitness will be excellent.

It is good he has competition from Roach.

This is a pretty mongrel Warriors pack with the soft runners gone and five shitty dudes in it 1) Blair 2) Luke 3) Paasi 4) Jazz 5) Burr.

All angry men. About time we got rid of all the nice boys.

If Jazz goes down people will get what they want at dummy half . . .

Cheers. Without the F-Bomb I would've been lost.

Sad for Roache, but Bully is still our best hooker and the interchange rules have made it difficult to carry two players who are purely hookers.
Maybe you should let Des know bro lol they might actually have a chance at winning a game lol

If by any chance we are up by 36 with 10 to go again, please put Harri-Tavita in to replace Green to get him some game time. Or swap Adam out if hes not performing even though Chanel is really a 7, experience is experience. Id like to see the 2 young guns have a play together on the field.

I think its more SK wanted guys who wouldnt drop the ball and had some footwork/dynamics. You think our back 3 are at the 50 by the 3rd tsckle often. Our big boys are fresh to trample over players and potentially offload. The Back 3 really make our forwards look awesome, they are good but they dont have to hit it out from the 2nd like most clubs. Love it.

Im still not convinced about Jazz, he had that bad period last year, then improved, I guess just keep him going while the going is good.

No no no an no
If you mean carrying him on the bench just incase we are winning, so we can give him a run?
This is NRL first grade .
Nope he has to prove he's better than AK
Or wait till Green pulls a hammy .
An then his job is to be competent .An win

On the Jazz thing I hope Jazz nails it at hooker .
It is a bigger bench with Jazz at hooker .
Roach has proved he can come back after time off an own it
So now he's just got to take Luke's spot .He knows it Luke knows it
SK is ruthless by the looks of it .well played SK

Sure hes changed the type of forward with ball players and steppers.

I was talking about the way he has changed the temperament of the pack.

Blair offers little else really, hes good and not great in most areas, but he is the pack leader because of whats between his ears, hes shit at meters for example.

Theyre more agro than our past packs, more grubs and thugs, less go through the motions and not engage in the emotion of the game (Lillyman and Mutts spring to mind, Manners, these were the types who were the stars of the pack).

I suspect the reason SK tolerates Lisone is the same, hes got a bit of Agro in him, and its almost definitely why he has such an unusual forward in Jazz (mental over physical).

I was a little surprised about Roa he dropping out of the team, then a couple of things occurred to me.

He has been out 18 months with major surgery, he came back well playing long minutes in 2 trials and round 1. We dont know how he pulled up after the Dogs and managing his workload may be good for the long run.

Luke is ready to go. Adds so much experience and a good kicking option. He will counter Farahs experience and will probably niggle him off his game.

This coaching team know what they are doing.

I think this will be proven false. We will play better in the dry but the ground conditions won’t be a major factor. We have a team that can grind now and our fitness will help us. Our attack will be built more off hitting gaps and field position rather than running round them.

Time will tell...

Am I the only one who likes roach luke and jazz in the team. Put 2 props on the bench and jazz as back row cover. What is the issue?

I managed to justify it in the selection thread, but tbh this is the more straight forward approach.

It sucks for Roache and it's not really thinking longterm leaving him out entirely if this is the approach moving forward, but Jazz is almost a must have these days (when he doesn't overplay his hand) and I think it was a case of 'one or the other'. Particularly this week when there's a good chance it's going to be a physically draining forward based slog in the rain. We can't afford a small bench. Not with the monsoon like conditions in Sydney last night where Manly couldn't even pass it more than a foot at a time for a period. I think SK is playing the right card in this instance, PROVIDED Luke is 110% fit and there's no added risk of him busting his shoulder and we wind up with Jazz playing 50 minutes at hooker (which he's on record saying even he doesn't like)

The reason I think SK has gone for the big bopper bench is literally a past loss last year. I don't quite remember what game it was, but he went with a really really small bench in the wet and we got obliterated. From memory it was a bench with both Jazz and Beale. To me, this shows actual growth in SK's coaching if that's the rationale.

It's also worth considering Jazz has shown he can be effective regardless of who is left on the field. Meanwhile, Roache has yet to really prove his value in any position apart from hooker (that time he got thrown to the wolves on the wing doesn't count as a plus imo) and honestly, a young hooker coming off a back injury is the last person you want filling in at 2nd row in the wet.

Honestly, I'd probably rather Roache get some game time over Jazz, purely because of Luke's age and future planning. But for today, given the above, I'm willing to see how this plays out.
