Soward is predicting the end result after 24 rounds. hes not going of the results of round 1 just yet. give him slack. besides if we should know anything predictions mean nothing in sports.
Burr over papa, because i want character built for later down the track not quick results. Tigers will be tough but i think our team unity is what will end up getting us over them, its no longer one person trying hard, its the whole team, and that only happens because each layer is held accountable by each other.

AK had so much emotion and pride last game its good to see someone whose that invested in the experience means hes wanting to and willing to give it his all.

So happy for Adam K. He could have just as easily been a flop and have had the full wrath of the NRL media doom and gloom merchants predicting the Warriors fall post Shaun Johnson land on his head.

The Aussies love a red head. They call them blue aye, well they used to in the nineteen eighties when I lived their. There is a Irish colonial romanticism that is steeped in Australia's culture in similar terms to the Boston American love for Irish immigrants (watch any Ben Afflick movie about southies from south Boston to be left in no doubt, or the Boston globe movie with strong Irish catholicism links, then there are the Kenedy's the Royal family of the states) I digress. Adam Keighran is a red headed Aussie, a kid gone to the south sea islands, that the NRL would fall in love with if he keeps it going.

The fact that he is from Balmore makes him a died in the wool Sydneysider, a literal son of the sytem that bore the NRL. He could end up a legend playing for the Wozzas, and in that vein, it might make him want to stay where he tasted success.
The same is true of Burr, second chances and all that.

Keighran is as Irish as you could possibly get, a Celtic name no less.

Interesting piece about Keighran on a Phil Gould podcast talking about how he told Adam he was going to the Warriors and would have a better chance of first grade. He also was assured by the Warriors he would be in FG.

He said Adam contacted him this week to thank him. Gould told him he had been preparing for his first FG game for 21 years but now he only had a week to prepare for his 2nd so to get his head into week 2. Good advice.

Panthers had AK on contract for 70-75k
Warriors came to the Panthers to ask whether they would release AK
Gus asked how come, and the Warriors said because they believed Shaun Johnson may be out the door.

Keep in mind that announcement of AK being signed to the Warriors was 30th October 2018, and the story where Cameron George was asked about the Shaun Johnson contract status was 25th October 2018. So interesting to note that the Warriors were already talking about AK as a replacement for Shaun Johnson, as it seemed like he was leaving, before anything broke in the media.

And I thought Gould was a coldhearted b**tard who would never agree to releasing one of his own players to strengthen another team, especially a Kiwi team. I am proven wrong, kudos to you Gus for thinking about this man's long term prospects in the game.

It makes sense but why didn’t they keep Lino? Did the Warriors not rate him? Im glad we have Kegs though. He’s only going to improve also he has a massive bomb on him.

I'm guessing that Lino was on a minimal contract and we didn't have any money spare at that point in time to match what the Knights were offering. Basically we did the same thing for him as Gus did for AK.

I'll tell you why we didn't keep Lino, 2-3 decent 1st grade games in over a dozen spelt it out. That and his awful form toward back end of ISP was enough for me to wish him adios and good luck at the Shights!

Below is the first comment on the Tigers forum for this weeks game, this knucklehead is a dreamer, we all know this is the warriors year.

I think we will win 13+ as the NZ team used all the energy round 1, our attack will be better and score more points on the back of the warriors making a lot of errors, we will turn it up, after this we will beat the dogs and Penrith I can’t see us being beat, I think we can go on a run and win the comp like sharks did in 2016, if our defence is like that all season and attack improves no doubt it will, this is our year.

That post has the big two, historically accurate criticisms of the Warriors.

One that they will tire.

Two that you profit off their mistakes.

Basicly the two areas Kearney has put the most investment into improving. Errors and fitness.

We have too much power across the park. Wests Tigers will be gallant but don't have the class.

IMO the only real reason why some commentators are tipping the Tigers in this one is the Campbelltown factor. On paper, we own their team. We have a disproportionate power advantage, an advantage we've used in the last 2 clashes to belt them physically. We have better attacking finishers and I'd also say we have a speed advantage too.If this was at Mt Smart, this game would be a no-brainer. This is a game we should win and win well if we are being serious. Even though we won 2/3rds of our Aussie games last year, The Aussies will put 2018 down as an anomaly year for us if we don't back it up again this year.
