Is there a more Warriors thing then kicking the perfect 40/20 bouncing close to the sideline so it's nearly impossible to stop and also close to the line in perfect attacking position. Only to drop the ball on the first play.

Or the halves next kick after the 40/20 to go out on the full.

Or getting in perfect position for a match winning drop goal only to drop the ball.
They need to be investigated for match fixing.

Papali'i dies with the ball a lot. He never breaks the line, he has zero attacking game. I genuinely think he can turn into something very good, but he is a sound defender, who is a chronic handbrake atm.
The Papali'i we saw turn up in Rnd 1 last year against the Tohs lean and mean, vs the chunked up one we have this year is like chalk and cheese. Hes got the building blocks to be a decent player still only 20, but hes suffering from Buntyitis being used on the edge when hes an out and out middle. We unfortunately just don't have anyone else to play edge currently. So while hes getting game experience out there, it's hurting his development not being used in the right part of the field. Maybe Curran will have a big off season, and answer our edge issue.

Possession stats are all well and good but it has to be used. All the forwards seem to stop when catching the ball the run cross field. The only consistently direct runners are Ken and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

Green needs to be listened to, the team has to accept his direction. These guys sure know how to make it hard for themselves.

They clock off mentally and take shortcuts, too often flat footed both on attack and D. That Fifita try was frankly unacceptable. I think most of them need a reality check.

I gave it an H for Had enough. How many chances do teams have to give us to win games.Hell it is lucky the A and E wards across the country weren't flooded by fans is a miracle. As far as trying to slot a 1 pointer for effs sake it cant be that hard if you are not a headless chook. Season is over as just getting to magic 8th spot every year ain't doing it for me nor are Sks after match speeches. It's time for an overhaul for 2020 big time.Sorry guys rant over.

What do you say about this team that hasn't already been said, cannot finish off and win a game. The game itself was probably a fair result for two average teams, would like to see the errors for both. Hiku/Maumalo were good, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck a bit of rocks and diamonds, mostly diamonds - and the as for the rest well, probably already said. I don't know why Lisone is picked, are our stocks that bad, guy looks so overweight. Our centre position (4) is a real concern, Kata sucked/Beale is worse and now Herbert is injured although his last few games weren't that great. Luke/Tevaga/Papalii/Green - losing patience with these guys - very average. Chanel Harris-Tavita looked good in his stint.

As stated a hundred times before. Ken is the leading metre eater in the comp! The only thing that changes is the number on his back.
He's good close to the line, But if we're 40 metres out and a overlap is created for him. He's fucked.
This is where Ken needs to study big wingers of the past, obviously guys like Manu, in terms of how to use his power when given that space close to the line.

Ken tries to be too nimble close to the line, stepping and swerving, when he should use brut strength to bundle over the opposition.

Take that break off the Kodi pass to start the 2nd half. It was him and Milford 1 on 1 and he decides to step back in (too early even) instead of trying to take him on in contact.

I said it in the gameday thread - if he could apply his hit up and kick return efforts close to the line he’d be a threat.

But in terms of winger play - he’s improved under the high ball, he can finish close to the line, he’s using his speed at lot more - now it’s time for him to develop creating his own tries in open space because tonight, for instance, Kodi was giving him good ball on a platter and he looked lost at times.

If history is anything to go by I’d trust Ken to improve in this area.

It has been said so many times..

We lack outright pace. We have no one that can burn the opposition.. Kodi is fast but not express... Our wings are far to slow for us to be a threat to pretty much any other team.
Ken is the prop we are missing... That kid from the broncos is the new generation of prop for mine and we have one of those.

Until we get some genuine speed on our flanks no matter what we do in the forwards we are losing more than we win.

Oh..

And our coach.. Nostrildumbarse...

Is a fucking idiot and i am well over him.

He's our best metre eater. Peeps moan about how we need speed on the wing. And a prop who can make us metres.

He's big, Powerful & has good speed......for a forward.
Fusitua was leading try scorer last year. Put Hiku back with him. Til we find someone with genuine speed on the other side.

Some of you are stuck in the fucking stone age and can't accept change. Hes our best player at the moment. And has done nothing wrong. But I think he'll be just as effective in the forwards.
If Ken was put in the forwards, his energy levels would be depleted by having to make a huge number of tackles (is his tackling skill up to it?) and so his metre-making efforts would be very different. One big reason that his stats are so incredible is that he’s a winger.

Amii is stepper and i think it would have been easier to watch. But next time I would defn go higher at sun Corp. All good though Fusitua put 1 on the corner just for me
The western grandstand is 25 years old, it was kept when they rebuilt the stadium. The other 3 stands are 15 years old and you can tell the difference in building styles

Not happy that we didn't kick on and get the win, after looking so dominant and up for it in the first half. A lot of players, Blair in particular, looked hungry and keen to take control of the game.

Relieved we didn't lose again. Watched the game with expectations of a loss, so this is marginally better. That droppie from Segeyaro was a gift. He had no business trying the droppie. A bit annoyed that none of the other players with decent boots wanted to do a droppie on our side, but hey, it looks like Kodi was the chosen one.

One of the good points - the boys definitely knew how to play golden point. We were let down by individual errors / decisions in extra time, but it took a whole team working together to limit the Broncos' opportunities and to get us into position for a droppie. That was a stark contrast to how we played golden point against the Panthers.

On one hand I can understand the hate towards Jazz. He makes mistakes at exactly the wrong time, he throws poor offloads from time to time, and he hasn’t got a good enough passing game to be a back up hooker.

On the other hand, he’s an absolute fucking workhorse and been a shining light in the last two years. This guy is putting up phenomenal numbers & gets no recognition from 80% of you guys.

90 mins in the middle, 184 metres and 72 tackles - are you fucking serious? These are insane numbers, and the fact that since he’s been given that 13 jerseys this is the standard he pumps out.

Sure, he’s got mistakes in his game. He was given a contract from an open trial, and has only been in the squad for 2-3 years. He’s young and has a lot to grow in his game.

But for fuck sakes, don’t question this guys attitude and effort, every bloody week. This is the type of player the warriors need. Fuck the flashy shit and the rocks/diamonds player of the warriors yesteryear. This guy is all grit, effort, hard work & heart.

I’d choose this guy over most locks in the comp. I get that some may find this laughable but these numbers are too hard to argue with. I understand the game is more that stats but that’s my exact point. These stats resemble something far deeper; he’s got heart, and passion and rips in and gives 120% every fucking time.

Him and Ken have been shining lights in a piss weak 2019.

Great post mate.

Jazz is under appreciated big time. 72 tackles? Even with the extra 10mins to rake up a few extra, thats insane.

That to go with 184m - for a dude in such a small frame, those numbers are phenomenal.

Problem is stats only tell one story - it’s simply because at times he’s just in the wrong spot at the wrong time. And often makes poor handling errors at critical times of the game.

Those numbers help keep us in the fight - but those errors can be the difference between a Win or a Loss.

He’s always had this issue tho - too keen. Which isn’t bad but he must learn when to inject himself and when to step back and let the other options play out.

But to his credit - and the underlying problem - is that his team mates shy away from the crucial moments sometimes. He’s always there with his hand up. Gift and a curse.

But he’s a fricken beast whether you like him or hate him. A workhouse. Plays above his weight. Has aggression. Everything we want in a bigger body is ingrained into a 90kg fella the stature of a traditional hooker.

One thing tho - he has that hardest worker in the room mentality - something a few of his team mates need.

And for the young fellas coming up - he’s the role model for work ethic you want in the squad.

I decided to watch this game away from this site and to treat it like I was watching two other teams play against each other. Hard you might say?? After the last few games this season I am slowly becoming less and less emotionally interested in this team which made it all the more easy to do.

I actually enjoyed the game for the spectacle it was interestingly enough. Sure there was mistakes and silly ones at that, players falling off tackles, missing balls in the in goal that should have been cleaned up ect, but watch any other NRL game that you have no vested interest in and these things happen in just about every game.

I thought Blair was excellent and was having the best game attack wise I’ve seen him play for the Warriors, Hiku we know has always had the attacking flair to him and I thought his defence is getting better with each game. Nikorima was on fire down the left edge, and I would say the reason they didn’t go down there more often in the second half was because the Broncos had made adjustments to shore up that side. Can’t wait for Harris to come back as we are missing him desperately. I was a great advocate for Beale before this game but apart from shuffling the ball on to Fusitua for the try he really doesn’t offer anything on attack.

Warriors at least turned up this game and played with attacking flair which I enjoyed more that Kearney ball they have been playing for most of the season. Let’s hope we put on a great game next week and send the Sharks home with no points.

I don’t think anyone doubts Jazz’s effort and motor, it’s just he isn’t good. Particularly over 80. it’s going to be interesting to see if he will get through the next few games as he is getting hammered and manhandled.

Must have missed at least 12 tackles last night. Also errors at crucial moments.

Maybe make 12 less 3rd man in tackles and give more effort on one costly Fifita tackle, run 20 less metres and don’t muff up the most crucial play of the game.

Took every droppie set up run and got man handled every time.

My thoughts exactly. He won the game last week though, maybe they will sign him for 4 years as well.

You been on the Rebel Yell again? He missed 6, which is not flash but he made 72 FFS. That means he probably made at least 25 tackles that some other lazy fucker/s should have. Go and analyse the stats and workout who that should be,and start with Bam Lisone

A workhouse
Confucious say give me a wild horse I need to tame, not a farking dead one I have to kick into life.:oops:
