You wouldn't be the first.

People have been saying for years that the Warriors should win this one or that one, but especially Dog games.

Funny enough the fans of the opposition sides post the same thing.

Not trying to be a dick, I never get it.

In the closest competition going, why there are so many fans expecting to beat any of the other fifteen teams.
It's called HOPE bro then with 5 mins to go and we're down by 13 just add LESS and we are back to the grind for another year. Of course we could be up 13 with 5 to go then its HOPING upon HOPE we hold on.

I just have blind faith, I always think we will win. There is no logic to it. Then when we lose I throw my toys for a couple of days then convince my self we will win the next week. Eternal optimist or idiot? Or maybe it's just keeping da faith.

I have to admit, there was a game last year where I had serious doubts - round 4 away to the Roosters with Shaun Johnson a late scratching. How wrong I was with that one when we thrashed them.

Is this the start of a new dawn?
We still have good players in the team just not the unpredictable factor of Shaun Johnson.
This isn't our best team arguably but the best available for the first round.
Until proven wrong I back the team and coaching staff.
It will be interesting to see the final squad, I think Lawton needs to be there as he is a versatile unit, an hopefully fully fit.
We have arguably the best back three in the competition and a very solid forward pack, and plenty of debth in the centre's, the unknown are our halves, rocks or diamonds?

I'd only have Jackson and Napa over our boys out of that team. Ayshford is a bit of a bolter. Is he back row cover at a pinch? Otherwise, if carrying a back prefer Beale.
Napa offers up about 47 running metres per game and gets suspended, a big No for me. Wouldn't mind young kiwi back rower on the bench ex-Panther in 2018.

An article on Kata swapping sides.

"He [Kata] said to me from the start 'if I don't pass to you, rip into me' and I told him I would have done that anyway. But no, look, we have been training really hard and we're excited to put that into practice.

Also says it a change suggested by Kata. Good on him for speaking up.

Maybe Kata's best pass is too his right but no one has picked up on it cause he hardly passes
The big accurate right-side bullet pass.
Or he probably feels more balanced playing on the right, thats where the big right step is.
Yeah I'm trying to sound convincing but its not working!

It's pretty amazing how the Kata thing played out.

First there was a ground swell of pressure from fans.

The first time I heard it raised in the media was when someone text Radio Sport to get Darcy Waldergrave to ask Kearney to his face, he gingerly put it like this "Somone just text asking why does the winger outside of Solomone Kata not see the ball as often as the other Wing ?"

Fark you gotta laugh at the gloss over.

Then it was raised in the fan forum.

And finally the media start talking about it.

Now the club is going on a charm offensive "Staceys idea"

"Kata's idea"

Finally it's embossed with the "Royal we" from Kearney.

So, I gotta ask, who do we want shifted next ?

Power to the people I say with tongue only partly planted in cheek.

Looks like there will be a big crowd on Saturday. It's easier to see how many seats are left now that the club are using Ticketmaster.

I see the NSW Cup game is on beforehand but does anybody have a full list of the day's run times? Couldn't see it on Ticketmaster.

Question is why didn't the coaching staff pick up this earlier? Kearney looked genuinely surprised when questioned about the lack of passing from Kata to Maumalo last year. Is it some tactic to preserve Maumalo's energy so we just use him as a battering ram instead? Whatever it is, its very short sighted. Glad that is changing. If it really is a player driven move then it is even more bewildering.

Now can we get:
  • Lisone to be selected on form.
  • Sao to be picked on form.
  • Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to improve his support play and look for offloads. If it means less meaningless hitups, I would gladly take it.

Taking my warriors eye patch off I'd have to take foran and Lewis over AK- he hasn't even played first grade yet
For similar reasons lichaa ahead of roache.
In the fowards CHN and sue would be sure things.
Never been a big Tolman fan but his stats are always massive- couldn't see burr or lisone getting a spot over him.
Overall id give us a slight advantage but I don't think there's that much in it tbh.
Home ground advantage should get us over the line.
Our back 3 and centers shit all over theres. They have the better halves. Apart from Napa. I rate our prop rotation better. Their second row is pretty good. But we have Tohu Harris. And Blair with his niggle & work rate. I'd give us more than a slight advantage

Pfftt, the doggies think this is our weakest side in years, what because we lost johnson and mannering...whatever !! im picking Warriors by 10+

the doggies for mind will be a side in the bottom 8 so we should put some points on this mob regardless of what round it is

lastly, if kata plays the way he has and Fusitua's tries dry up then SK better be prepared to hook him and replace him with beale or back with Hiku.

Fusitua goes along way to us winning games, its obvious really, top try scorer an all !
