god after this off season thursday cant come soon enough.

you know at the end of last season I really thought i was a bit leagued out. Yes the team were on the improve but its been a long hall for me from their very first game. It was sort of Yay were building, but i've seen that all before.

But come day one, I'll be back on the couch watching with the rest of you mugs. God Save Me.

Hi my name is Shane and I'm an addict.

Always keep an eye on the former warrior players and there's a few interesting ones getting around this weekend-
Gavet jagging a starting spot at the knights.
We've got a few running out for the sharks now with feki retaining his spot, the chad, bakuya and of course there'll be a big focus on Shaun Johnson making his debut.
Foran will be trying to resurrect his career at the dogs and rfm has done well to see off some strong challenges for a starting backrow spot.
Mutts and ET both starting for the tigers with fudge off the bench.
Toafofoa sipley has beat out Lloyd perret for a bench spot at manly.
Jeremy latimore on the bench for the dragons.
Shaun lane and warriors junior nuikore filling the edge fowards rolls at the eels.
I think we're all stoked for Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad getting first shot in the 1 jumper with the raiders- always seemed like a great bloke and havilli off the bench.
Good luck to all our old boys (except the 2 playing against us) once a warrior always a warrior.
I'll be watching ALOT of footy this weekend- can't wait.

Love footy season, gives me an excuse to stay in and not play up out in the big bad world.

Storm, Sharks, Roosters, Warriors, Tigers, Cows, Panthers, Raiders.

Manly vs Ligers is the blindfolded dart throw, but leaning Ligers due to Leighcardt factor. GC could pop the Raiders cherry aswell.

Am looking forward to seeing how Charnze goes at the back for the Raiders.
Me too. I like the kid and wish him well but fear he is a symptom of the Raiders not being a popular club. I felt sorry for Ricky Stuart on NRL360 tonight saying how they sacked players for bad behaviour only for those players to be the subject of a bidding war by other clubs...sort of defeats the purpose doesn't it?

I love watching all ex players but the one of most interest to me this week will be Shaun Johnson. Love to see him do well with his new team. I expect him to play a blinder this week...

For what it's worth I've heard Shaun Johnson and moylan have been carving up at training.
Interesting game that one- Sportsbet can't split them.
I think it's a mistake moving ponga- mind u he will have Pearce running the show and a decent pack to play behind- ese ese couldn't even crack it.

Apart from Johnson, he is dead to me 😂

yep same here Bruce, not a fan of Ricky's but he made some valid points. Gotta wonder though how Wighton has still got a contract with the Raiders?

Ricky saying it wasn't fair that players could be sacked and then earn more elsewhere was a pretty weird thing to bring up.

If players are continually stuffing up enough to be sacked at one club then maybe the club has to sort their shit out.

If another club wants to take a gamble on damaged goods and pay them handsomely for it then that's their business.

An interesting look at how each team's Round 1 team list from 2019 compares to five years ago.

Here's what we were running :

1 Sam Tomkins 2 Glen Fisiiahi 3 Dane Nielsen 4 Carlos Tuimavave 5 Manu Vatuvei 6 Chad Townsend 7 Shaun Johnson 8 Sam Rapira 9 Nathan Friend 10 Ben Matulino 11 Jayson Bukuya 12 Simon Mannering (c) 13 John Palavi 14 Jacob Lillyman 15 Suaia Matagi 16 Sione Lousi 17 Feleti Mateo

Having a look at the other teams, funniest thing I saw was the Sharks having Ayshford and Jono Wright together in the centres.

Good post. How many of those would make our 17 on their 2014 form?

I guess Manu Vatuvei, Chad, Shaun Johnson, Sam Rapira, Ben Matulino, Mannering, Jake Lillyman (played SOO???) and Matagi. That is about half the squad which shows how much stronger this team is IMO.

I think what he was getting at was the NRL put pressure on the club to act on these players, who to be fair were pretty much out of control. With one exception they all seemed to pull their heads in or else their new club kept them under wraps.

Gotta disagree with you on a few of those, Bruce.
Matalino, Matagi, Lillyman, Chad... much prefer the ones we have in the squad now as they are, no counting on further improvement yet to come.
