Oh, yeah, the "unspoken" rule where teams don't take the extra runs afforded by the fielded ball hitting the bat and richocheting...Hadn't considered that one.

I guess that means the rule no longer applies. England did it to us, ergo we can do it right back.

What are you talking about! The issue was that the umpire gave an extra run to England for the overthrow boundary.
The issue was not that England decided to run. It was an umpire error.

Yes Cummins f..ked up but the Raiders only have themselves to blame because they failed to defend following that ref error and allowed the Roosters to go the length to score.

As we keep saying the players tend to make more errors collectively than the ref

if the Raiders are looking to hang the blame on someone look no further than Leilua, 1. Tried to be hero instead of passing immediately to Rapana.
2. lazy so and so didn't even try to get back when the one legged man Keary easily skipped by him which led to the match winning try.

This news does not surprise me at all. Is concerning for the game though. Not sure about how it compares to total viewship figures this year. Thought they were quite good. Someone else may know?

Numbers have been lower all year from various articles. Leadership of the game is lacking and their decisions are slowly affecting the game.

credit to the Roosters on two outstanding recruitment decisions, 1. the signing of Cronk, absolute master stroke, 2. getting rid of Pearce, there's no way they would have won back to back premierships with him still been at the club. (as evidenced by the Knights lack of success since he's been at the club).

I agree with Ray Warren's thoughts on that 6 again issue.

“To my way of thinking when a referee makes a blunder like that he should blow the whistle, put his arms in the air and say time out, and go back and re-start the game where the problem started.”

GF day biggest day on the NRL calendar yet they still managed to make it look like amateur hour. A couple more fuck ups which I don't think were publicised. The fireworks behind the stage weren't working properly and caught on fire. (fireworks and NRL do not mix), They forgot to put the stairs on stage for the ceremony, and one more which is Ch9 related that lightweight Lockyer asking B Moz what it was like to play in back to back GF's. B Moz had to remind him " ah Locky I wasn't here last year"

Dont forget the presenter on stage who forgot his lines so they skipped straight to the national anthem. Gets sympathy votes but still, get your shit together boy. 😂

As easily blame Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad for not managing his workload well enough and having to leave the field. Personally I knew that when he walked they would lose. They never had the depth that the roosters had to compete if they got injured, and I thought Leila got injured ribs early in the second half. Thought it gutsy of him to stay out there.
