Wouldve thought another boppa (Sao or Satae) on that bench rather than Nikoll Klockstad would've been the way to go given their likely to trundle out Asofa Solomona and Kasiano at some stage.......jesus that's some scary big.

Think we're missing that utility that can cover back/hooker/lock at a pinch.......seems made for Lawton I would've thought ( would have him before Jazz tbh)

Scary big in Solomona and Kasiano is the same as playing 3 Burgess, Jr Paulo and Shannon Boyd, Napa Cordner and co as well as a fierce Dragons pack.

The moral of the story is: Beat them as a team. Defend as a team. Attack as a team. Pressure them as a team.

Never be intimidated by size. They all fall to the ground when you chop them down.

No doubt, problem is he cant cover the backs which means we've had to go a specialist back on the bench which will probably mean unless a back goes down CNK wont see any game time which just seems a waste of a bench spot to me.

If we had a second rower who was fast enough and versatile enough to cover the backs, then great.

I don't like having a wasted reserve either but putting Mannering in the centres is asking for trouble.

The only thing is we are joint top of the table so something is going right.

There’s only 80min and 8 subs.
Our back row play big minutes and Jazz gets a lot of game time. How many props do we need?
If there was a genuine edge player option, then sure but I don’t mind carrying a outside back as cover given the current team makeup.

Agree - as I have said before this is a big change from last year. Only 8 subs so 3 subs get on and get off in the second half which takes 6 subs. You always want to save one for late injuries. 3 subs is what many teams seem to be using this year with the 4th a cover for late injuries.

Unless you guys wanna end up on the confessional thread on Thursday I suggest you stop questioning king Kearney
I can't wait for the confessional for those who rated Lino over Johnson at the end of the season. Unless Lino is the starting half by then and we win premiership with Lino passing out wide to Johnson at center to score the match winning try. Obviously then I will be visiting the confessional as the dirty sinner I am.

We have been scrambling well on D. Our ability to cover the park will be tested with the speed they have in their back 3. They are also a well drilled club getting into form so will work over our defense a lot.

We'll do the same to them of course.

The battle of the wingers will have big ramifications for this game. Power V Speed. Big Ken and Fusitua up against The pace of Addo Car and Vanuvalu. Thier gonna try and stretch us out wide, use every inch of field to create space for thier wingers or find a gap for chambers to go one on one with Hiku.

When the numbers are good, Maumalo needs stay on Vunavalu and trust that Gelling will get his man. Stay on Vanuvalu, and let Gelling man handle Chambers. If Maumalo bites in when not necessarily needed, Chambers is classy enough to get the ball away to Vanuvalu, who only needs inches to burn you on the outside.

Biggest threat is Bellamy IMO the astute coach that he is, and what he does with players at his disposal that he himself has developed.

Upside for us is that despite all of that Warriors are probably their bogey team for some reason.

Oh and our back three ain't too bad right either right now.

NAS will start well and be tough to contain, then when Kasiano comes on we inject Jazz who gets into dummy and chops em both down with hs grasscutters before they get any momentum. Warriors win last 10 minutes of the first half and scores close up, second half Storm momentum stalls and Warriors run riot. Smith cries in the presser and goes home to lie with the paper bag that arrived today with his other pay that he thought was ok coz his manager signed that agreement not him.
Go get em Jazz!

Only issue i see with having CNK as cover for the backs is that it means we don’t really have injury cover for the forwards.
I think we need to acknowledge Tevaga isn’t a bench utility in the conventional way. He’s seen as a genuine backrower, who can play a bit of hooker if he has too.

Yeah you can’t plan on who could get KTFO on any given week.

Would have been interesting how many minutes papalii would have played last week barring injury, maybe 10, maybe none.

A fake head knock can do wonders for your interchange. Get a guy on and then off again for free. Don’t want real ones though.
