Surely the main thought, question is ...what happens if Mason plays his part as he has done against the Dragons and Roosters ? Nothing fancy but at the same time steedy and accurate with his kicks and direction while causing problems running the line ?Would anyone consider bringing back a player who CAN be a match winner BUT will go missing for long periods in games ? The way forward can only be to forget so called superstars and reward TEAM players who i believe one is Mason Lino.
Wouldve thought another boppa (Sao or Satae) on that bench rather than Nikoll Klockstad would've been the way to go given their likely to trundle out Asofa Solomona and Kasiano at some stage.......jesus that's some scary big.

Vete only played a handful of minutes and we absolutely needed the extra forward in Papali'i last week. This make up of bench is asking for trouble in my opinion.
Vete was ok last game, good tackles but always seemed to get left behind the ptb.
CNK as cover for centre or wing or fb?
My prediction is that Vete will go great guns against Melbourne.
No doubt, problem is he cant cover the backs which means we've had to go a specialist back on the bench which will probably mean unless a back goes down CNK wont see any game time which just seems a waste of a bench spot to me.
Need to go with the player that has the runs on the board rather than go overboard when a player has a good 1 off game, if Lino keeps taking his chances then let’s look at it but Still to early to be drastic.
Really starting to test our depth this game, not as concerned as previous season but fact remains we are still playing a lot of back up players.

Here is what Wikipedia says about the positions lawton covers
"He plays at halfback, five-eighth, hooker and centre. He previously played for the Gold Coast Titans."
You don't really spell any of those positions so if he plays he will be sitting on the bench until someone is injured just like CNK will.
Choice a) A bench with lawton would have him and two props and a back rower such as Sao.
Choice b) CNK with two props and Tevaga.
Conclusions: Sao is a better back rower than Tevaga but CNK covers the back five better than Lawton.
Overall choice A does look better but it is not as clean cut as it first appears.

I would bring in Sao for Lisone.
I can understand the selection of CNK. At this stage of the season, all of the forwards are match fit and can play big minutes so you can afford to carry a back on the bench if the worst case scenario happens.

We should opt to go into the match with 14 guys and simply mannering as the entire reserves bench and interchange.
He should also be asked to do the whole captains run training session by himself while everyone else goes to Pita Pit.

If there was a genuine edge player option, then sure but I don’t mind carrying a outside back as cover given the current team makeup.
