Like that Vete is on the Bench but would rather Papali’i take Gellings spot on the Bench.
Not sure about Mannering at 11 but can live with it.

at least we have 2 props on the bench this week. if gelling does indeed start and kata is ruled out i would like to see papalii onto the bench.

most balanced. i would have for CNK to be put on the bench and given 5 mins at the end, such a waste and a serious dislike of mine wasting a bench spot. tevaga gives blair and/or bully a rest. papalii can give mannering a spell if he needs it. if we are going to waste a bench spot id rather have a forwards who can offer something not a winger, and lisone and vete are ovbiously the battering rams

Whomever is responsible for our current template, took a look at the Dragons and copied it.
Mobile forwards, second phase offloads, meters gained from dummy half running through the back five.

The obvious disadvantage of going up against the mirror is when the mirror has a thousand games more practice at it.

However, they don't have a mortgage on second phase rugby league., the Warriors are bred for it. Where St George are strong is that their backs are very tidy low error types with excellent hands, and they do not throw hail Mary's like the Warriors unless they are well on top of the points.

If there is an advantage at being the lesser twin, it is that the Warriors have had plenty of experience of how other teams undo this Dragon template..the Warriors only need look back a week and see the answer to taking the Dragons down.

Line speed.

Scramble.

Defend mistakes.

No fades.

In other words show these bastards a different Warrior team from the one they have defeated twenty times.

Ordinarily we will put three men on one of their runners, that guy will offload, and the lazy Warrior defensive line will have ripe targets like Sam Lisone and in the past Feleti Mateo (they used to cash in on his lazy retiring from the ruck contest.

This Dragons side has not been tested, it certainly hasn't come up against the Defence of a team like the Warriors V Roosters/Canberra with 13 and Rabbitohs with 13.

They are an awesome side but they can be frazzled and unnerved by a side that is clinically in the nineties with its defence.

I have seen plenty of teams go with them then falter when one player in the line makes a defensive error...that is trade mark dragons.

Get up in their faces and swarm....once in a while they will flank that...but it forces them to push the risk balls one more step...and that is not very dragon like...having two risks stacked one of top of the other, make them make errors...they can't really deal with mistakes....their mindset is clinical and anal retentive.

There is no size in this team it is a real concern if the Dragons hunt in a pack
like the broncos did I don't care how fit we are they will run as off the park .

The way Kearney is using his bench when Blair moves to prop and Tevaga comes on, Vete will likely only see 20mins. In round 4 with a 2 prop bench Satae only saw 17mins and round 5 with a 2 prop bench Lisone only saw 19mins.

While Vete had some good attacking stats on the weekend. He had 4 missed tackles, 2 errors and 2 penalties to go with it. The typical Vete performance for mine thats held him back previously.

Sao must have munched Kearneys sangas at lunch or something to drop back behind the likes of Vete and Satae.

Out left edge is a mess. You have Simon who is coming back from injury and looked very cumbersome last week on the edge, combined with either Kata on one leg, or Gelling who shows no signs of being NRL ready.

We cannot go into the game simply hoping to limit damage on one side, which will offer nothing on attack. There is nothing about that edge that will have the Dragons worried at all, which is a worrying situation to be in.

Tevaga retains his spot, Vete somehow leapfrogs Sao. Unsure about these selections and I’m not convinced this side will have enough in it over 80 mins. Dragons by a few.

Crazy how good things are for Dragons fans at the moment. Unarguably the best team in the comp at the moment. They're strong at every position.

Not only are they really good right now, but they have IMO the strongest group of young guys coming though out all 16 teams. Guys like Matthew Dufty, Jai Field, Luciano Leilua, Hame Sele, Jacob Host, Tristan Sailor, Reuben Garrick and Blake Lawie. They could be dominant for a long time.

Warriors v Dragons: Mannering starts against unbeaten Dragons

For five weeks the Warriors enchanted us with their free-wheeling nothing-to-lose approach. The Broncos brought them back to earth with last week's win in enemy territory and everybody's waiting to see if the honeymoon is over or if they are legitimate top eight contenders.

It's not as though the Warriors were bad against an injury-weakened Brisbane, but there was a faint whiff of complacency about their performance and they can't afford to take anyone lightly. Coach Stephen Kearney should have no trouble getting his side up for the unbeaten competition leaders.

There were a few rumblings after the Dragons scraped home against Souths in round five that a loss was just around the corner. Well it wasn't around the first corner, as the Dragons romped to a big win over crosstown rivals Cronulla, leaving them battered and bruised in the process.

Given their good record in Auckland over the years, it might not be around the next corner either.

Key match-up: This has all the makings of a game that will come down to how the halves influence their respective teams. Hard as it is to go past Shaun Johnson v Ben Hunt, the contest between classy five-eighths Blake Green and Gareth Widdop carries a touch more intrigue. They are similar players of a similar age and whoever is the most effective will impact heavily on the result.

For the Warriors to win: Stick to the basics and don't get caught up in their opponents' game plan. The Warriors need to make an aggressive statement in the first 20 minutes and convince the unbeaten Dragons that they're in for their toughest game thus far. A world-class performance from Johnson also wouldn't hurt.

For the Dragons to win: Weathering an expected early storm will be paramount for the competition leaders. If their hard-working forwards contain their Warriors counterparts, Widdop and Hunt will provide ample scoring opportunities for the Dragons backs.

Warriors stat attack: The Warriors are the NRL's top team for offloads with 98 in six games, well ahead of second-best Manly (82). Winger David Fusitua has scored 10 tries in his past five games at Mt Smart Stadium.

Dragons stat attack: St George Illawarra seemingly have the wood on the Warriors, winning 13 of their past 14 meetings. The Dragons are the NRL's most prolific attacking team with an average of almost 33 points per game.

And another thing: Dragons five-eighth Gareth Widdop will play his 100th game for the club on Friday. The Englishman is having an outstanding season, leading the NRL in points, try assists, goals and line-break assists.
