That is absolutely one of the finest wins we're ever had. Finals included. We just took out the table topping, formerly undefeated Dragons. Not only that, but they are our bogey team, we were missing
Shaun Johnson and had to play our 4th string centre. We also had to cop 10 minutes with a man down and some VERY harsh penalties. I'm fucking FIZZING right now.
Every player did their part, but I'm just going to bullet point and praise a few guys in particular:
BULLY FUCKING LUKE. That was up there with the finest games I've seen him play in any jersey. That 40/20 and try after were fucking clutch. His running and passing were immense and I would be signing him to a nice fat contract RIGHT NOW. Stipulate that he's gotta live within a 10km radius of Corvo and we'll be sweet.
MILLION DOLLAR MASE. For the second time, he comes in and does a fantastic job. Put his body on the line with every tackle, kicked well AND scored a try. I reckon a lot of clubs will be asking about his availability. I'd love to see him train at hooker and usurp
Jazz's 14 spot, but I'll be cheering him on if he can secure a contract elsewhere.
COCKHANDS GELLING. I wrote him off massively, but the fucker was probably reading his Twitter @'s and his thread on here. He had a great game. Did everything asked of him and really stepped up when we needed him. Very happy to be wrong and very happy with his game.
BUNTY. He's gotta be up there with the form props in the comp ... he's killing it. I am assuming Corvo has totally changed his life because I never thought Bunty would turn into such a monster so quickly.
MAUMALO.
Fusitua gets the praise, but Ken has quietly been one of the big reasons for our success. He caught just about everything that came near him (some bloody nasty kicks too) and ran as hard as any forward in the comp. When we were down and out, his big runs really helped us hold on. I was even more impressed by some of the tackles he made. There was one he made on Kurt Mann late in the piece that totally shut down the Dragons.
F-F-F-F-
Fusitua. Just another excellent performance from
Fusitua. He did many of the same things Ken did, but we expect that of him.
To the rest of the team: My fondest praise. Green was quiet by his standards and I'm very concerned about
Tohu Harris's cheek, but everybody did their part and this was a true 17 man performance. Not a single man deserves to be dropped after that. They bounced back from a disappointing loss last week in the best way possible.
I'm just really, really fucking happy that I didn't totally give up on these guys last season. It was so, so, close. But they're paying back every poor cu** on the forum that's spend the last five years in a state of rage and pain.
