I have full faith in the team to push for the title this year for one reason: Kearney's recruitment. Seven of the starting lineup weren't here last year and they have none of the baggage of the Warriors "culture" problem, whatever that was. I don't expect them to collapse like previous years because they're not the same people.

Another factor is that the salary cap has been slowly evening out the NRL talent pool across all teams for 7-8 years, to the point where there aren't many standout squads who are clearly superior across all positions. Age and experience are the best assets a team can have in this environment, and SK has assembled a nice balance across the park.
Although I do admit to scratching my head when we were odds on to lose to the "Rorters" after we named almost an entire team of internationals. Questions are already being asked, but they won't find anything. You can put that down to SK too.

I’d love for the team to get Fusitua involved a bit more this week. He’s such a skilled winger but I feel he could be a even better centre and play maker. Amazing hands, feet, passing and prob can kick too. The Kata , Ken combo bothered me at times as well. Kata just doesn’t unlock the best out of his winger. We use those two more like battering rams rather than skilled combo. I just think there’s a another gear we could go to by tweaking some things. As long as we win I don’t really care

I used to be a big fan of Fusitua at centre too. And it's not that I don't think he'd go well there, it's just that he's such a good winger. In particular he is going to score those tries from bombs that no other back in our side would. Add to that I think Hiku has actually done quite well. When I first heard he'd signed I was convinced he was just going to arrive and collect his pay without putting in. Though he complements Tohu Harris on that edge and seems to make reasonably good decisions, his footwork is also good enough that he is usually able to finish off those right edge plays buy making extra meters - importantly he doesn't try to overplay his hand and get dragged into touch etc.

When we ran the left edge play against the Roosters that saw Kata drag three over the try line...watching Ken wave his arms in exasperation was quite funny since he ends up celebrating at the end of it.

Purely from a career and wage POV Ken would be better off getting well away from the no trys reputation next to Kata.
Wingers that don't score get paid less than Wingers that do it all.

Hiku has been a gem. People wrote him off as he went to the ESL. but he's hard to tackle, makes good meters, passes to Fusitua and defends OK. I have the utmost confidence in his ability, I've not been able to say that in our centers the last few years.

If any of the boys read this forum the team is fucked, they will think they are gods. If course if they were reading this forum five weeks ago they would be wondering who the new coach will be in week six.

It's like half of you fuckers are in an abusive relationships and your man but he has come home four weeks in a row hitting the jack pot on the pokies and not only has he not hit you in four weeks, apart from one backhand two weekends ago (but you did knock over his beer so deserved it), and last week he bought you flowers from the dairy after having a sneaky win on the scratchies. You are now telling your mum and your long suffering best friend that he has changed.

The mum and friend know that at some point the luck at the pokies will turn and I forgot my point.
Why exactly do you watch sport again?

Fan forums are the absolute worst at exaggerating how bad a team is doing after a couple losses or exaggerating how great they are after a couple of wins.

It’s only the hardcore fans here so everything is naturally over exaggerated

We’re 1% outlier

Hate them when they lose . Love them when they win

Most normal people would be “meh, it’s only a game... you’re fucked if you do, fucked if you don’t. Let’s go get a drink...”

and from my point of view I thought Kata made the right choice there.

The Cowboys are sitting 3rd last on the table right now - they will be so fired up for the game tomorrow. This will be a real test for our boys - they will need to step it up too.

Game of the season so far. It will be a close one.

Go Warriors!! Go Mannering!!

I don't wanna get cocky but I reckon we can put serious points on the Cowboys tomorrow. All of the stars are aligned.

Such a reversal. Cows on a 3 game losing streak, playing a team in red hot form, away, in a sold out stadium.
At LOT of reasons for the cows to lose

The closest example I can think of was way back in 1995 when the Warriors had been playing very well. Dull old St George came over here and did us like a dinner. MSS saw the Wigan walk for the very first time, and in silence. I don't think the club ever recovered from that moment to be honest.

How did St George do it? A very simple game plan had a young guy called Gorden Tallis run straight and hard at Stacey Jones all day.

Since then we have a way better coaching team, way better. We have a much fitter team, a much better game plan. Matthew Ridge wrote in his book about John Monies uselss game plans.

So if we lose it won't worry me, as long as they give it a go.

I saw that. I can’t imagine Ken enjoys playing outside Kata tbh. I actually think Ken looks way lighter on his feet this year. He turned like the titanic last year

Ken defo looks lighter (arms and upper body look skinnier, all of them apart from Kata, Paasi, and probably a couple of others look light up top).

1st game of the season I was full of dread. 2nd game I felt nervous. 3rd game was a mixture of excitement and apprehension. 4th game I felt calm with a touch of optimism and pride. This game I feel cocky and confident. Fuck knows what I’m gonna feel next week if we win. Love this roller coaster, bring it on!!
