I think it will be Jazz, it seems most likely due to versatlity, we are in the shit if there is a Back injury.

Probably a stop gap you're correct. Luke could have pulled out 2x 80min performances if it wasn't for that head knock in round 1. Lets hope for 80mins from Luke.

Yup in the shape he's in and the form he's shown you want him playing as much as possible, ideally 80 mins. Just keep on running Bully.

Glad to see Paasi come in, hope he goes well. Don't care for Jazz much but he's a better option than Cook it would seem.

Tevanga should never see first grade after throwing a pass like that

Kearney's obviously taking the piss. He's seen my comment from last weekend and thought "ya'know, fuck you leaguejunkie I'm going to include Jazz in the first grade squad, and give him a run just to piss you off". :D

But honestly I thought Jazz was pretty ordinary last weekend. I hope he steps it up if he gets a run and makes sure he passes the bloody ball backwards!

As for Paasi, a few others have already commented that he was pretty heavily strapped in the weekend. I hope he is fit enough and mentally prepared to roll with the big boys.

After 2 weeks with only up to 20 mins of footy Cook back to ISP to get in some match fitness.
Was at the park and Paasi looked a little sluggish. Kept an eye on him at one part to see if there was any favouring of his knee because of how he was all bandaged up.
He didn't seem to shy away, flinch or cringe when being tackled so knee looked to be holding up fine. Expecting a big game from Paasi this weekend,
Not sure if Jazz will get much game time, another one who was ordinary last weekend.
Gotta have been that bug aye?
Can't wait for the game...

Beale too hopefully.

True Bro, that could potentially make Kata or Hiku reserve options in the ISP for cover (I'm not going to advocate for one over the other because I don't want to distract from the point which follows).

I can't think of a time where two genuine Centers could potentially miss out of the experience level of:

Hiku
Kata
Ayshford
Beale

While Kata is the least experienced he is a center option none the less.

There was a time where we might have one guy who was a genuine center with more than one fulll season of NRL experience in reserve...never two that I can think of.

Hopefully Cook goes back to the ISP & fine tunes his game with some new found confidence now that he has had a taste of the big time

Tevaga in at DH is no doubt a worry, can't knock the guys attitude or heart, but his service from the ruck is average at best, hopefully Luke can go the full 80

Satae on the extended bench over Vete is interesting

I rate Vete, he's still only young, especially for a front rower & has considerably more experience than Satae who is more or less the same age

Quite a few cats go on about Satae's size, but he's only marginally taller than Vete & they both weigh about the same, so it would be interesting to know SK's reasoning there

Very happy to see Paasi given a crack, if fully fit he can be hugely dynamic when he's in form, quality first grader

Given the teams recent form it's a very solid looking line up overall ... can't wait

Raiders: 1 Jack Wighton, 2 Nick Cotric, 3 Jarrod Croker (c), 4 Joseph Leilua, 5 Jordan Rapana, 6 Aiden Sezer, 7 Sam Williams, 8 Iosia Soliola, 9 Siliva Havili, 10 Shannon Boyd, 11 Josh Papalii, 12 Elliott Whitehead, 13 Luke Bateman

Reserves: 18 Joseph Tapine, 19 Ata Hingano, 20 Michael Oldfield, 21 Royce Hunt

Nice to see Ata make it to an extended bench over there.

That is still a pretty handy looking side.

It will be interesting to see how many Penalties we cop cheating in the Ruck as any decent NRL team should.

I would flag the leg pulls though...seems pretty obvious that one is a non starter. Lying in the tackle too long is just fine....in fact you better do your best Wrestle to stop their fat bastards offloading.

I hope Play the Ball has tears in his eyes at full time. Don't get me wrong I like and respect the little Green Bastard....Just wanna see his Night ruined not mine.

Beale is versatile, he can play centre, wing and fullback. I don't think I want to drop Kata at this point, wasn't a fan over the past couple of years but he is playing better so far this season. Not that Maumalo has done a lot wrong either but I think I would prefer Beales experience there on the wing, at least initially, you would have to imagine he would be safer under the high ball and improve that side defensively some.....well that's my thinking.

I definitely wouldn't drop Hiku at this point.

It's true though you're right there is some nice depth at centre now which is nice to have.

Good to see things are pretty settled. The main change is for an injury and Cook hasn't had much time, dropping back to get some game time would be good for him instead of playing 5-10 minutes.

Pulu I was a bit sceptical of after we initially signed him. Watching him at the Titans he'd cough a few balls or miss crucial tackles. Was impressed with him the last two rounds, coming on to cover Papali'i he did well. Earned his spot and a chance to push for a regular spot. He's probably one of the guys who has benefited from the tough pre-season under Corvo,

A good spot to be in with a reasonably stable side in form. Last few years we have had a lot of injury changes and the lack of changes were also to keep experience in the side or coaches just didn't want to make changes.

I got to the ground about 30 minutes to go in the ISP game. So didn't see much of Paasi as I think he went off soon after or Vete's second stint.

I was watching him for a bit as well and it looked like he needed some more match fitness. He was walking back a few times, hopefully more due to the slower pace of the game. Recall him making a pretty weak defensive effort letting in a try.

Hopefully as he's played first grade it will be a case of stepping up.
