Like they say, once you go black you never go back, I learnt that after the mods locked me out a while ago and kept redirecting me to PornHub.
After all you can't have people like me behaving badly on the forum and lowering the high standards that have been set, special shout out to Deranged for giving them the idea.:hilarious:
Bless you child for being part of the flock.

You could be right, in fact that could be the case for our whole back 5. It's no secret that our side uses and relies on our back 5 for run metres and hitups far more than any other team and its obviously by design. If the backs help with go-forward, the forwards will have much more energy for defense.

It seems to be a tactic designed specifically for our team with our big backs, whether or not it'll be a grand final winning formula I'm not so sure.

Regardless, even in a forward dominated team I can't see Maumalo being much more than a guy who gets us an extra 10-15m up field.

I prefer my wingers to be strike players who can create try scoring opportunities from anywhere on the park and to my knowledge Maumalo's only done this once ( v Bulldogs last year). Not frequently enough for me.
That try v the Doggies last year showed his ability. I think his problem is one of confidence.

His cut back off Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was a solid move, but he didn't complete it.

He just needs to run hard and back himself to make an impact. After all, being a winger he's allowed to take risks if there's a half chance of points if it pays off.

But his passing game needs work. Maybe he should put that away until after a good off season.

Come on guys, stop picking on bruce..... back when he played, the T-Rex’s weren’t allowed to try and catch the Pterodactyl‘s while they were in the air.

At the risk of sounding stupid that sounds like a stupid rule to me.

The whole penalty for tackling the player in the air thing was all about player safety (or so i thought). A tackle gone wrong to any player off the ground going for the ball can do damage regardless if your the attacking or defensive player in the air......seems a weird one to me.

Welcome to the NRL where stupid rules reign, how about a perfect one on one around the legs tackle to stop the player dead isn't considered dominate, or until recently bouncing the ball on the back of a prone defender is a penalty to the attacking side, or a blatantly obvious forward pass on a replay can not be called, because sometimes the video is not conclusive etc forever.

I concur.

Bruce would have forgotten more than many will ever know about League.

Play the ball not the man.

Why? Being old doesn't mean you know everything, except in my case obviously.

The easiest way for him to fix the problem, "Shit, sorry I was wrong." The following reply, "No problem." Discussion over.

Play the ball not the man.
Good point. That's the rule they were arguing about. Maumalo tackled the man with the ball.

The whole tackle a defensive player in the air or what ever it is. Is another one that seems to get ruled depending on the mood of the ref at the time, whether they ate that day or how smart they are.

Remember a few years ago we go done against the Titans when one of their players were out of play but we incorrectly got penalised. Correctly pointed out by surfin surfin at the time. Since then the refs have been blowing penalties for out of play like they have just discovered something new and want to show it off.

Point being just cause a man has a whistle don't assume he knows the rules. But unfortunately we have to play by the rules they know.

The refs are a part of the game. The great players know this, and make the most of them.

Average players just walk away and sulk whenever a call goes against them.

But it's just basic manners and respect. That's all they refs need from both teams before they can do their jobs to the best of their ability.

If you get pinged for a legitimate foul, act like it's BS without being a dick about it. And if you've done nothing wrong and it's a bad call, act like it's BS without being a dick about it.

It's really not that hard a concept to grasp.

No where as difficult as doing the weather report that’s for sure.

Didnt know where to shove this question, we need a general thread. Anyway, are we officially known as the Vodafone Warriors now not the New Zealand Warriors?

I think we should be called the Kiwaussie Warriors to be fair. But then Melbourne Storm arent called the GosfQlfdMelbourne storm ;-p

The poor NYC team are going to get the spoon, have we ever won the spoon in any comp before?

Btw, posted this in the NRL discussion thread, but thought I'd drop this in here too as people are probably wondering about it and I assume more people will see it here:

#5: Broncos beat Manly by more than 32
This is the worst possible result. Not only do we have to travel to Suncorp to face the Broncos, but one of the fucking Panthers or Dragons are guaranteed to make week two, even though they collectively suck. Meanwhile one of the two form teams of the bottom half of the top 8 will be eliminated.

Well this is our only option now lol, man I hate the faiders and nits, Knights have a solid team, they should have been able to hold on and overcome the dragons flap it. Raiders I can kind of forgive, but hate how they keep losing in the final quarter or by 1 point.

To be honest I dont want to face the panthers now they have cleary and maloney back, i think they are contenders that fell off the radar while they were injured. although one betting shop has them at 27:1 to win and us 17:1 so what do i know, the pro punters generally know more than I haha.

I wanted to face the dragons or secondly brisbane. I think we would beat brisbane even at suncorp. but we definitely would beat the dragons imo with no whipit. shows how important good halves are huh?

There are five scenarios that I'm 90% sure are correct.

#3: Broncos beat Manly by less than 23

We would still face the Panthers, Broncos are Home vs Dragons

#4: Broncos beat Manly by more than 23 but less than 32

We would still face the Panthers, but Broncos are away vs Dragons

You've got those two backwards. In #3 they'd be away to Dragons, #4 they'd be at home.

Kicking metres is not really an accurate indicator though because if you are dominating field position and running metres you will therefore be making shorter kicks. I actually thought the Warriors did a pretty good job of consistently making the Raiders work the ball out of their corner. Also to keep the top attacking side in the comp to essentially one try (the other coming from a Warriors error) was an example of both great defence and the fact that we were draining their energy (good game management)

I’m glad someone bought that up. Kicking stats without context are pretty much the most useless stat there is.
If you score a try off every set your kick meters will be terrible.
